Keep an eye on eBay for a Hong Kong version to pop up, they do occasionally. Expect anywhere between $50 and $80. The HK version has English subs, it just happens to be OOP.

yes good film and the 3d is pretty good . The fire scenes seem a bit cgi but overall a decent buy .

If you like these kinds of films I recommend The Tower - it's only in 2D sadly, but still worth checking out.

Been after this one for a very long time. Hopefully with the third one coming out there will be a re-issue.

You couldn't find Monkey King 1 or Detective Dee because those are both OOP. Monkey King 1 may be easier to find but I rarely see Detective Dee on the secondary market (do not get the German version, not English friendly). I likewise have missed out on those two along with Mermaid and Out of Inferno which also went OOP. I'll need to be more proactive and order earlier when it comes to Hong Kong releases. Should have learned my lesson long ago when Detective Dee went OOP.

It'll be a long time before I get around to watching them but I've rarely been disappointed when it comes to Asian 3D films, they tend to do much better in handling 3D than Hollywood.

Looks like DDDHouse cancelled my order for 3AM Part 2 for being out of stock, not out of print though and should be back in stock in August. Kind of a bummer but I’m sure I’ll be able to pair it with some other films later if my current order goes well and I continue doing business with them.

If you like the live action Monkey King movies and/or vintage 2D animation converted to 3D it's definitely worth checking out the The Monkey King: Uproar In Heaven - I have the region free metalpak but I assume that the regular edition is region free as well. It's a Chinese release but not too tricky to find online.

One thing about The Monkey King: Uproar In Heaven 3D, this is actually not the original 1961 film restored and converted into 3D, they re-drew and re-done the animation, adjust the editing, adding some CG rendered objects and re-dub the film, so it's basically a new movie...

The good thing is that Shanghai Animation Film Studio do have a legit restoration of the original film, though it's just like most other old mainland China films, you can never get it a blu-ray release...

Hi Fatboy,

Could not find the 3D version still available surfing the web or eBay but fortunately grazina did.

Saw where the box had 3D on it but hard to make out. Its not on the top of the case so maybe I saw it and did not know. Gonna look again for best price around
