Amazon's "The Boys" - Page 2 - Blu-ray Forum

I just finished watching the 1st episode...absolutely amazing show...even after just 1 episode I think this might be my favorite Amazon Original series...the cast is excellent, the audio is reference quality (every action scene has really powerful audio)...the only negative is that it's not in Dolby Vision...it uses standard HDR (probably HDR10+ for those displays that support it)...HDR looks good but it doesn't have that pop...almost every episode is 60+ minutes (there are 2 episodes at 56 minutes and one is 54)

the show is a true R rated superhero show, I actually thinks it's closer to an NC-17 rating...a lot of nudity and raw scenes...there's one scene in Episode 1 which sums up this show perfectly...the new female superhero recruit goes to meet up with the rest of the heroes at their home base...The Deep is there by himself...the female goes to say how excited she is to join the group and how she had a crush on The Deep when she was younger...The Deep immediately takes off his clothes and starts touching himself in front of her...

I have watched the first 3 Episodes now and I still enjoyed it a lot. Remind me a bit of Watchmen

Yay so The Boys is finally live, I nearly pissed myself with joy when I randomly saw the trailer a couple of weeks ago. Completely didn't know they were turning this into a series.

I hope they show the Homelander baby scene.

Since The Boys dropped yesterday a few hours before midnight, I was able to finish it today. It was great to watch and I enjoyed it, but it was not a great show. It might feel like you're watching something fresh and different since it's the opposite of superhero movies today, but there wasn't a whole lot of substance outside of the obvious "power corrupts." But they do have a great opportunity to build on this season and go somewhere with season 2. The only question is if they will or if it'll be more of the same.

I've only seen the first three episodes, but so far this feels like material better suited as a hard R-rated movie instead of an 8 hour TV series. Good premise stretched way too thin.

A strange thing is that it isn't in HDR on my Apple TV 4K, but works fine via the smart tv app.

I like what I saw so far and am looking forward to season 2 but, they actually toned the show down a lot compared to the comic books. The scene you are talking about is so much worse in the comics.

Great show real ballsy for Amazon to pick this up and let the creators of the show have the amount of freedom they have to depict the comic book the NC-17 content because this show is really hardcore TV-MA.

Few years back Netflix had balls to make TV Shows like this they sure are pussies now and let those crazy parents tell people what they can or can't watch.

This really isn't as graphic or crazy as people are saying. There's worse content in Happy and that airs on the SyFy channel.

I guess it might be shocking in contrast to the Marvel movies it is scathing? Which is where I imagine a lot of the audience is coming from.
