No prob. I initially made the translations by reading the subtitles with no sound then re-watched the trailer. Made some corrections.

Read a Korean article regarding the film and the story is about the collision of 2 worlds/families, a poor jobless and the other very rich. What starts as a job interview as a tutor for the rich kid becomes the pivotal point for tragedy/comedy that are to follow.

Bong states that the scope of the movie is tightly focused on Korean society and has details that are especially meaningful for Koreans . . . we'll see about that.

Pondering over the ending of the trailer that shows Song Gang-Ho (father) in native American head dress (quite commonly used by Koreans in shows). There is also a reflection of a native American tipi in the movie poster.

Also just noticed on the poster that a stroke in the first character of 'Ki-Saeng-Choong', the Korean word for 'Parasite', seems to be a curved knife.

The trailer #2 teases with additional details. From what I recall from watching the trailer last night, it seems the 'son' of the jobless family gets the job interview as a favour for someone he knows. From this opportunity the whole family is mobilized to make the best of it.

Regarding the pizza boxes: it's a manual 'outsourced' low pay work some people do for additional income. You receive, say, 1000 flat cut outs, then fold them into boxes, then return them for $. Probably about $0.10 per box. I remember making boxes for dress shirts when I was in Korea (40 yrs ago); not fun. I guess this type of low pay work still goes on!

So this may be one of the 'Korean details' Bong is referring to.

2019 is turning out to be one ridiculously stacked year for films.

Nice, guaranteed a decent home release, only down side is they do take their time getting around to releasing the films they acquire.

A 4K release would be nice. Would also love a 4K release of Memories of Murder (still think it’s a shame it hasn’t had a blu-ray release in the UK, luckily I bought the Korean version whilst it was still available).

I wouldn't get your hopes up unfortunately, Birds of Passage, Sunset and In Fabric (plus some others) are all listed on Amazon pre-order as DVD only. Which isn't surprising considering the lack of blu's for quite of few of their recent releases.

Give them some time, they’ve only just hit cinemas.

That’s a surprise, going from worrying it wouldn’t translate to foreign markets to taking the biggest gong of the year. Great stuff.

This was my most anticipated movie before the year even started. Super stoked for Bong Joon-ho. Always been a huge fan.

Thinking Neon might hold this till the end of the year to push it for best foreign language at the Oscars. Really want to see this as soon as possible though.
