I'm still waiting for blurays of The Black Cat, The Invisible Ray, The Raven, Black Friday, etc. etc. etc. and all those titles thrown away on wildly over-priced TCM m.o.d.'s.

Yes! This is what I've been waiting for! I've been watching the Universal Monsters since I was a kid in the '80s. Got the VHS copies for Xmas and birthday presents when I was younger and picked up the DVD sets in my 20s. I KNEW Universal would do this so I held off on the blu ray sets even though it was killing me to do so because I heard how nice the restorations were.

I did wind up grabbing Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein and Meet The Mummy on blu because I'm a big Bud and Lou fan as well but this set will be mine! I don't care about all the duplicates. I'm just glad to have all the Universal Monsters in one box. Fantastic!

Now time for them to release an Abbott & Costello Collection and "Road To" set with the four Bob Hope/Bing Crosby musical comedies they own

I'm eagerly awaiting more news on this, especially possible savings over purchasing the individual collections.

Does it come with five copies of Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein and three copies of House of Frankenstein? If not, I won't buy it!

As long as you get three copies of House of Dracula, why carp?

Dracula Legacy - 4 Discs
Frankenstein Legacy - 5 Discs
Invisible Man Legacy - 4 Discs
Mummy Legacy - 4 Discs

It would be pretty dumb for Universal to include multiple copies of A&C Meet Frankensteiin in the set, so I must have overlooked something.

Maybe the inclusion of Revenge of the Creature in 3D caused the Creature set to be inflated to three disc instead of two ? Just guessing here !

Well, since they now have 4k scans of all 30 movies, maybe they will, at a later dater, release the 30 film set again in true 4k. I would be all over that on day 1. Would be kinda cool if they also offered an optional immersive sound track for each film. Immersive soundtracks could really help to set the mood. Notice I said 'optional", that was so some people here won't start yelling, screaming and cussing me for suggesting the original soundtracks be altered !

Wouldn’t hold my breath. The audio for the first Frankenstein has been weak since 2004 so I can’t imagine them doing much else audio wise with these films.

I don't think all the films got 4K scans. I could be wrong, and I know the few "big" titles got them, but I doubt they went 4K for every title in the sets, especially the lesser known films toward the end of the run.

But I'm happy to be wrong if they did.

This site does not go along with "4K scans for all 30 movies." The thread dedicated to the subject says only a few have been scanned at 4K.

For example the Wolfman on Blu-ray is said NOT to be from a 4K scan.

Anybody know the truth?

I suppose at this point, I should say that "all 30 movies" was simply an assumption on my part, or should I say wishful thinking. Have not seen any confirmation of such. Should have thought this one through.

I'm hoping these last 2 sets sell well because if they do it's now time for the Inner Sanctum flicks and all the Karloff/Lugosi films--- with hopefully The Black Cat and The Raven on the short list!

It's also worth noting that The Creature Walks Among Us will reportedly be presented in its proper aspect ratio for the first time as well for those curious.

This is what I'd been hoping for ever since the first Universal Monsters Blu-Ray box set came out...
