I'm pretty certain he said, Fallout 76 is Always Online. Then said a solo experience, but again, that will probably require an online connection, much like The Division. Why couldn't they offer something like Ghost Recon Wildlands' option of offline or online for Fallout 76? I guess they're modeling it on Elder Scrolls Online. Oh well. The game looks awesome otherwise.

Good point. You could be online trying to explore a new area, and someone with high rank might be camped out there blasting anyone who gets close. Not fun.

If the helmet looks gritty like that, I'd be impressed. The Pipboy looked way too clean back in 2015's Fallout 4 release. I bet this pre order will sell out before the end of this week.

Same here. The freedom to just explore without the extreme difficulty of human players is gone when it's online only, along with the longevity of the game once the next gen consoles arrive and eventually the servers disappear for Fallout 76.

you can play the game solo if you so desire. You don't have to team up with other players, and you can avoid the ones you meet online to explore the world on your own.

Yeah would suck that unlike newvegas or fallout 3 that 10+ years later I can boot it up whenever I want, and not wonder oh are they taking the servers down...

Cautiously put in the order for 2 copies of the Power Armor Edition for PC. If it turns out to be a solid game the Missus and I will need a copy each. She loves the Fallout series and would probably hand me my ass if I end up with the big one and she doesn't.

I despise pre-ordering games, but Bethesda hasn't let me down in the past so here's hoping they'll continue that streak with this game. That said, if it turns out to be a dud it's an easy cancellation / return.

As long as I can play this solo without getting killed by other players trying to troll I'll play this. As soon as I saw and heard that you could get killed by other players, I instantly said nope. Now, I'm hearing if you play solo, other players can't kill you. Hopefully that's the case.

I'm just stoked that the game takes place in my neck of the woods (WV). I totally love the face as well that Camden Park will be a location. That is literally down the road for me, went there loads of times and now I get to play it in a video game!

Still not a very good answer. I can try to avoid other players all I want, but if they don't want to avoid me then there's a problem. I don't want to PVP in a fallout game. Period.

the required online connection thing is absolute trash, but I wouldn't worry being killed by other players, I don't think the game has pvp. plus he said 'there will be dozens of players, not hundreds' so seeing other player should be rare anyways. unless it's all talk, of course.

anyway, I have no interest in this, I'd rather play 3 or New Vegas

I wasn't even thinking about this at first but having a co-op experience in Fallout is something I've wanted for a long time. However the base building and nuke aspects have me taking a step back for now.

Seems like I'm in the minority in here but I am looking forward to this. I've been playing Fallout since 1997 when the game was turn based. I believe it will be a unique experience honestly.
