Supposedly Spacewalker is shot with native 3D rigs, but it really doesn't look like it. Unless they failed to adjust the interaxial, I'd say the majority is cheap conversion by BigSharks Studio. It's not wonky, but it's just too flat.

Its mild, conservative and absolutely worth getting. It's one of the better Russian movies and the mild 3D adds immeasurably to the enjoyment of the film....if you speak German or Russian. We've seen many fine space films from the US perspective. It's nice to see it from the other side.

You're going to want to get the subs or mux off the English release to derive the best experience:

I can also recommend the movie Salyut 7 which also has amazing 3D. That one I got the russian edition and the 3D is also amazing.

Apparently 3D TVs can decode SBS and OU. So if you have a 3D TV and you legit own the disc then back it up to hard drive and play it off that. With the right software you may even be able to play the disc directly but I never got 3D working that way. I don't have subtitle issues because I use a PC (and VR) so maybe it's worth a try?

This apparently has been stuck in customs since Monday of last week! Uggh. I was hoping to be able to review it today.

Yeah I'm in Australia so once they ship it is it in a giant untrackable black box thanks to stupid Deutsch Post.

I'm so sick of dealing with these German sites to be honest. I really wish Amazon Germany hadn't stopped shipping here. They had decent postage. Not a single other German site I can use has shipping worth squat.

It finally got out of customs that weekend but now USPS has screwed up! It made it to my local post office and went out for delivery, but then I got a notice that it could not be delivered because no one was available and I had to schedule delivery. The heck? I have a locked mailbox a block away, even if it's somehow a big package there's a locker for that. I just assumed this was some kind of mistake like the postman was delayed and said f it. Next day it did not go out for delivery and was not in the mailbox. So I went ahead and schedule the delivery for yesterday, and it never went out for delivery or got delivered. So I have submitted a lost package case with USPS. Tomorrow I'll go to the post office and see if they have it. Uggh, if I have to buy this again...

I went to the post office the next day and they had it in the back. No idea why they didn't just deliver it to me. So of course you need a player that can do the external subs for this, plus region free/B. But I think it is well worth it and the movie is very good. A very interesting historical drama of the first Russians to perform a spacewalk. 3 scenes are pretty intense. Although I suspect a lot of facts are exaggerated to heighten the drama. 3D is medium and almost all depth, I don't remember popouts. This is definitely not Gravity when it comes to the 3D. Most of my enjoyment came from the movie. I recommend 3D version regardless, but if you don't have the ability I would highly recommend streaming it.

I'm very lucky I have a way of doing external subs. It's pretty cool, and I was even able to fix some typos and an obvious mistranslation I found in the subs, lol. And it has come in handy for the recent Marvel 3Ds, and now let me watch this movie at all. I now realize I can probably watch all of Attraction in 3D with subs. Before I just watched the opening and closing action scenes because I didn't care about the dialog.

Watched this last night (with external English subs). Very good movie though not as entertaining as 'Salyut 7'. It was very cool to see how the first spacewalk was done in 1965. Actual spacewalk is only a small part of the movie as expected (It was done within 10-15 mins IRL), but it's a very thrilling and memorable sequence. The rest of the movie too is watchable. This movie too packs in some lies and propoganda but doesnt goes insane like 'Salyut 7'.

3D looked native to me. This means that 3D looks very good and natural in scenes like snow falling and there are no wrapping errors. Unfortunately, this also means that 3D is medium throughout and doesn't goes as wild as I personally prefer. I don't remember any pop-outs but there was great depth scene towards the end when module was descending into atmosphere. Overall, I liked 3D better than 'Salyut 7'.

I highly recommend that you see this movie, in 3D, in biggest screen possible, just for spacewalk sequence alone.

This movie looks good but there is no way to get the 3D version of this with English subtitles, Russia must hate the U.S..

Well, the German release caters to...Germans. It appears many of the Russian 3D releases don't even have Russian subs. They probably hate themselves too.

Is this the Russian release? Does anyone have it:

Yeah it sucks. But if you have an Oppo you can use external subs, and then I would definitely recommend this one!
