![]() ![]() The Nearly 35th Anniversary Edition is currently available for 1000 DMR points. Should I just get it now, or should I wait till August 28th? What are the odds of this supposed new edition being any better? (or not just a repackage) EDIT: I decided to bite the bullet. Last edited by gwfb5; 08-25-2018 at 11:07 PM. |

Would be worth a rebuy if they delete that Disney "pause mode". If I pause a movie, it's because I'm leaving the room for a bit, or there's something onscreen that I wanted to freeze & look at. I don't want an entirely new program to start playing. I get the idea behind it, but give the thing an off switch...

Also, you're probably not the only ones who hated that feature and didn't know it was optional. Afterall, the whole "Disney Intermission" thing didn't last very long, and I don't think Disney has put it on any of their discs since. (Good riddance I say!) While we're on the subject, exactly how many titles had Disney Intermission anyway? (I thought it was only a small handful) Here are the ones I Know of. Peter Pan Diamond Edition The Little Mermaid Diamond Edition The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh The Muppet Movie The Muppet Christmas Carol The Tigger Movie Winnie the Pooh: A Very Merry Pooh Year Mickey's Christmas Carol EDIT: The Muppets (2011) Wreck-it Ralph (I wonder if Disney now regrets having Chris Hardwick involved in it? ![]() Last edited by gwfb5; 07-09-2018 at 12:26 PM. |

For the info, this edition has been just the repacking of the old released without the Amazon/Vudu Code in digital, like Oz, Great and Poweful....! The Canadian version of the original Muppet has not rereleased at all for this released, because the old released has been a DVD/blu-ray combo (not like the US version).
And also, this is not the same case of Hocus Pocus and The Nightmare before Christmas (theses two movies has been a new DVD and blu-ray released very soon). |

The newer repackaging is currently available on DMC and does not state any pre-order info. I'm wondering if this edition is a DMC exclusive for now until it general releases in Oct.

The Muppet Movie BD only re-release isn't on DMC website (yet) -- though it probably will be tomorrow along with OZ, the verious Hocus Pocus and Nightmare Before Christmas re-releases. None of those are specifically DMC exclusives though there is a BD/DVD/Digital of Hoc-Poc and TNBC that will be exclusive Muppet Movie and Oz are on the Best Buy US site already with a release date of 8/28 |

I've only seen clips from the UK version of The Muppet Movie, but yeah, some of those scenes listed were always in the US cut, too.
What I've actually been trying to figure out is what happened to the soundtrack on The Great Muppet Caper. For whatever reason, when Disney released their VHS and laserdisc in the early-90s, there were several changes to the soundtrack. No picture changes, but different music in spots and, most noticeably, the removal of Miss Piggy's "Hiii-yaaaaah" as she crashes through the window on the motorcycle near the end. Those changes have been present in every home edition (including the Sony VHS/DVD releases) since. But when I saw a 35mm print a couple of years ago, it was the original soundtrack I remembered from seeing it on TV and video in the 80s. With this and some of the weird changes to The Dark Crystal remixes over the years, I wonder how the elements on those early Henson films were stored and labeled. ![]() |
