Had to watch most of this on a twitch stream someone was recording before their channel was suspended (since Shudder was down most of the night) but managed to catch Tourist Trap, Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-A-Rama and Daughter of Darkness and it looks like they added the Tourist Trap airing for rewatch on Shudder this morning.

They showed Daughter of Darkness, the 1990 made for TV vampire flick starring Mia Sara and Anthony Perkins? Or was it the early '70s French Horror Daughters of Darkness?

The latter. Daughters of Darkness, had trouble getting through it to be honest so I switched over to the Shudder live feed itself which was by then airing Demons 2 for some reason on my Roku.

So for certain we know they showed in order...
Tourist Trap
Sleepaway Camp
The Prowler
Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama
Daughters of Darkness
Blood Feast
Basket Case
Re-Animator
Demons
The Legend of Boggy Creek
Hellraiser

Had to go to bed right after The Prowler and got up earlier just as Re-Animator was starting. Looks like I only missed Sorority Babes In the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama (which was about to come on as I was going to bed), Daughters of Darkness, Blood Feast and Basket Case. At least I can catch up on them next week when the movies are made available On Demand.

Until just a moment ago I didn’t realize the other things playing on the Live Stream is the “free stream” for nonsubscribers, and for my roku hitting the right arrow switches it from the “free” to the Last Drive-In feed, it took a few tries of exiting and reopening the Shudder app but it finally allowed me to switch to the premium feed and let me watch a few minutes ago.

Well, this was amazing! I had so much fun with this marathon and am sad it's now over. They really did a great job recreating everything about MonsterVision, even down to the off-camera chatter and laughing from the crew. I wasn't that crazy about the Mail Girl, though, and wish they could have brought back one of the older ones or maybe even a couple of them and had them alternate or something. This new girl's style didn't really match well with Joe Bob. But the rest of it was great and Felissa Rose was a blast.

Most of the films were all new to me, except for Sleepaway Camp and Hellraiser. I'll catch up with the movies I missed due to sleep soon enough but of the ones I saw I most enjoyed Tourist Trap, Rabid and Re-Animator. My least favorite was The Prowler, which was really quite a chore to get through. Demons was also a bit of a slog but at least it had great visuals and music, and the second half was decent once things really kicked in. The Legend of Boggy Creek and Pieces had their moments, although the former was a bit slow going at times.

Overall, this was a great time and even though they were billing this as a one-time thing I really hope they consider giving Joe Bob a regular spot. Especially after seeing that so many people tuned in for this that it basically crashed them.

Looks like they’ve added all the movies as episodes for rewatch on the Shudder app (probably to compensate those of us who missed most or all of them). Aside from Hellraiser, Re-Animator, Demons and Sleepaway Camp I’m mostly new to these though I’ve heard of them and knew enough about Pieces to guess it from the clues Joe Bob gave about the last movie in the marathon.

Watching the Re-Animator episode for the first time now with my wife (my wife’s first time seeing this movie ever) and really loving it

This was an epic weekend with Joe Bob Briggs! I'd never seen any of the films prior to this marathon, so that made it all-the-more exciting to watch. I had some troubles in the beginning like everyone else, but I was able to see the first film in its entirety. Joe Bob was fantastic, and his wealth of information about the horror genre was incredible. Oh man, his humor had me . I felt sad when the final credits rolled and Joe Bob just sat in the chair in the dark looking around. I hope Shudder can give him a regular spot or do more events with him. This marathon was just fantastic!

I enjoyed most of the films that were shown. Some were obviously way better than others, and there's still a couple of the films I didn't get to see in the middle of the night. Overall, I think my favorites were Pieces, Demons, Rabid, and Tourist Trap.

I went and canceled my Shudder account, burning up the free week trial but before they can bill me. During the process, they had an offer for a free month trial. Oh sure, what the hell! I'll gladly take 30 more days of horror movies.

And then tonight I just got an email, that they're giving everyone a free month to worship at the altar of Joe Bob. Sweet - two months, just enough time for me to forget to unsubscribe, those cheeky bastards.

I guess I can check out that last couple of flicks Joe Bob that I missed.

Just posted by Shudder on Facebook:

Quote:
Due to overwhelming demand, we're bringing Joe Bob Briggs back later this year! Stay tuned for details - the drive in will never die!
And from Joe Bob's own Facebook:

Quote:
Joe Bob Briggs was out of touch, as he continued to recuperate from the rigors of last weekend’s marathon on a party boat in Granite Shoals, Texas, but he issued a formal statement delivered by the Mail Girl to Shudder headquarters in New York City:

The people have suffered enough.

Assemble the squad.

We're gonna need more servers.

I can't do 27 hours again though.

what they should do is maybe just a double bill once a month like monstervision.

Yeah, I think the best thing would be a double or triple feature once a month.

The films certainly weren't cut like they would have been on regular television; bloody gore and swearing were all intact.
