This is the cover for the standard 4K. It’s what I’m going with.

Don’t like the cover too much, but it is a 4K steel with a digital copy, plus I don’t own a blu ray or DVD copy so it hits enough points.

I like the original Steel. I get what they're going for, a vintage car ad, and would probably have picked it up next time I saw it in-store for ten bucks. But I'm really happy an "older" film is going out on UHD, so I may get this instead (even though I'm not yet UHD-capable. Maybe X-mas!).

Already have the BR steelbook, and since this is exactly the same, may have to just upgrade to the amaray version and swap discs.

Worth buying this? It’s the only Carpenter between Assault and They Live I don’t own, I missed out on the Indicator disc, and I’m not sure if we’ll get a Scream release.

I didn't have it and at 24.99, the 4K to me is worth it. The inside of the steelbook is blank, so nothing super cool.

Not exactly the same, the new one has two disc hubs and does not have a BluRay logo on the spine.

They could have at least worked on better outside and inside arts for that price. I got this steel because i didn't have the movie and it was 4k.

I feel like this thread needs some context on the Steelbook art. I have the original 2D steel and I also don’t love the art. BUT, just so people can at least understand what the art is trying to do, a forum member explained it here:

Oh I get it....but a bad looking ad from the 50s shouldn’t be copied just so it looks like the 50s!

It’s like when people kept telling me if I’d watch Lost in Translation or Napoleon Dynomite one more time it would be funny.....if it needs explaining, it’s not good! These sat on the shelves at Best Buy for months. My guess is they will do so again

I noticed that this BB movie section was pretty much empty which was weird.

I actually agree. Just wanted others to know the context of the art because I saw a lot of people here and elsewhere saying “I’ve never seen so much text on a Steelbook, why?” Because it’s mimmicking a newspaper ad.

I found the answer, went to best buy and picked it up, the back cover slip confirmed it does infact contain the same ones
