I actually thought this movie didn't look so great. Then I saw Neve Campbell was in it and I thought it might be a good Moviepass movie. Now that I've found out that the director behind We're The Millers and Central Intelligence is doing this one my expectations and excitement have gone way up. I'm actually pumped for this movie now. I actually really liked We're The Millers and Central Intelligence. I also liked Dodgeball (another of his movies). This is looking better and better.

Bruce Willis is such an arrogant prick, Dwayne would likely push him out the window... and it wouldn't be a stunt. |

Looking at that poster, it just makes me think what could have been. The Rock could have been a monumental action star. He has the look and the screen presence, but he never had the right roles. It should be noted that action films are aren't created or appreciated the way they once were, and that may have something to do with it, but imagine the Rock as a new Terminator, or in a Die Hard-style movie (Skyscraper, maybe?). Not with any camp factor, just as a badass action hero. He could've destroyed it in some R-rated action, and he has done a few films that reflect that, but if he had been around in the 80s, he'd have a whole slate of hardcore, classic action films on his filmography. Any thoughts?

I do dig Snitch and think him + Jason Statham in the Fast and Furious movies is gold, but they're definitely not the Predator, Commando, Total Recall, Terminator 2 stuff we could have been getting while he was in his prime. Just the state of action movies during his tenure, I guess. But damn, man, if The Rock signed onto something with the squib, choreography, stunt, explosion and no shaky-cam masters, they'd have all the investment money and creative liberties they need to set a high bar. |

The Rock seems to just be all about the money at this point in his career.
Signs on to basically anything and everything, churning out movie after movie, nothing rated R since the career really took off - it's all about box office revenue. Some are good, some are not, I don't think he really cares. Whatever sticks to the wall seems like his game plan. Love the guy, but dude really has no iconic roles on his resume besides his wrestling gimmick. I may be wrong but I don't think he even has any franchises of his own (meaning not something like Fast and Furious) besides I guess Jumanji. I mean a sequel to San Andreas? lol, nah man. He's got the build and charisma, but I think he needs a better agent to build a real legacy with some iconic roles because i don't think anyone is going to remember the characters he's played thus far. Not saying Arnold's career was perfect, but so far the Rock's career has nowhere near the legacy of arnold's and its not even close. But then again I think he's the highest paid actor in hollywood (or one of), so I guess whatever works. |

Either way, I see him as being fairly prolific. He could do with roles that would extend his acting chops. I think he's capable of doing decent work. Probably not academy award level stuff, but with the right role he can act. One of his best performances, IMO, was in Gridiron Gang. As far as having an iconic role, I'm hoping Black Adam really takes off. |

There is apparently a sequel in the works for San Andreas. I think The Rock works best in comedic roles. He was absolutely brilliant in Be Cool.

The rock is a douche. I can deal with him but the part that bugs me is that he is going to be around doing this for another 20 years. I seriously hope his Fast & Furious spinoff with Jason Statham tanks, and tanks hard. He ruined that franchise.
Hmmm, I wonder.... Why is that. |

He's not terrible. But like a lot of other actors, he simply plays himself in every movie. |

![]() Even though it was great for the franchise's profits year over year, I don't necessarily think those two ever belonged in the Fast & Furious Franchise, since driving doesn't serve their skillset and their presence kinda just dilluted the focus established in the earlier films... but the series just jumped the shark in general, and when Paul Walker died, it was already at a change-or-end impasse. I know the beef and theatrics around him and Tyrese, but he's not the only one. I think him and Jason Statham are gold together. |

It was going to be called "San Andreas: Ring of Fire" and focus on the fault lines in the Pacific Ocean. But in a recent interview promoting "Rampage", Brad Peyton, who also directed "San Andreas" was asked when we might see the sequel. He said there are writers attached to the project, but Johnson has such a tight schedule with a lot of movies to shoot, the window of opportunity may have passed by to get the sequel out within the ideal 3-4 year time frame, but he said he's still game if WB wants to move forward. |

I doubt he was playing himself in Be Cool. Unless he actually IS a gay man striving to be a country western star. |
