-Premium Case (Arrow Style, Digipack, Digibook, Criterion, Steelbook etc. Your Choice)*
-Alternate cuts of the film
-Deleted Scenes
-Comprehensive Documentary (45min - 60min minimum in length)
-Interviews with cast and Crew (2-5 short interviews)

* I'm not too particular on the case, although I'm not the biggest fan of steelbooks. Also long as it's solid and sturdy enough that they can't punch holes in the artwork or fold it up like a taco shell, putting multiple creases in the spine, I'm good. I am getting a bit fed up with damaged packaging due to poor shipping practices and mishandling.

At the end of the day I think these are the 5 I'd go with that would mean the most to me in the long run.

-Original Theatrical Audio mix
-2-3 Commentaries
-Alternate cuts of the film
-Theatrical/VHS Trailers
-Comprehensive Documentary (45min - 60min minimum in length)

give me commentaries and extras. sometimes that's the only reason I even buy a title. packaging is nice but that's a bonus.

2-3 commentaries
comprehensive documentary
deleted scenes
original poster art
original audio

I mean, sometimes it makes sense when they cut stuff out. not everything has a different cut.

Your thoughts echo my own. I'm a huge fan of premium packaging, but at the end of the day I can print my own artwork and purchase replacement cases to better suit my preferences. On disc content I (typically) can't just create so my own choices were reflective of trying to maximize the content I receive from the studio/distributor knowing full well that with custom covers and replacement cases I could still improve on a release.

This would work fine for me. While I do try and get slipcovers when they exist, packaging is a small concern next to anything else with substance. Even though many deleted scenes suck, there are still some great ones I'd hate to miss (I'm thinking Boogie Nights, From Dusk Till Dawn, Gladiator). I like what Scream does with covers with new art on one side and theater poster on the other, but would prefer the poster art on the slipcover.

It should be a crime to sell a Blu-ray without the original theatrical release of a movie. There are also movies like Dune, National Lampoon's Vacation, and Blazing Saddles that I want the television cut included since in many ways they are superior to the theatrical release but each need to be preserved for the viewer to enjoy.

I was thinking commentaries, but I would prefer if they were recorded a couple of weeks before the movie was released on blu. Listening to TLJ commentary wasn't as interesting as I thought it would be as RJ recorded them before the movie hit theaters. I would have loved to heard his feelings to the feedback the movie received & his reasoning for the decisions he made. (I don't follow him on Twitter, but I heard/read some stories) It would be really fun to hear commentaries years down the line.

Anyway, here's mine
Digibooks (with character bios, storyboards, notes from the director & actors, etc) Though I think a digibook may be unnecessary with the inclusion of...
Comprehensive Docs (45 min - 60 min minimum in length)
Deleted Scenes
2-3 Commentaries
Original Theatrical Audio Mix

I was actually torn between deleted scenes & alternate cuts. Most movies don't have alternate cuts (right?) so I chose deleted scenes.

I wish the below choices would always be used for doing justice for the film without any unneeded bells and whistles that IMHO may eat up the budget for real work required to get a excellent release.

-Original Poster Art for the cover
-Original Theatrical Audio mix
-Alternate cuts of the film
-Theatrical/VHS Trailers
-Restoration Feature

My picks:

-Comprehensive Documentary (45min - 60min minimum in length)
-Alternate cuts of the film
-Premium Case (Really anything would do, picked because I think plain cases are drab.)
-Deleted Scenes
-Original Poster Art for the cover

A few choices seemed redundant. If a comprehensive documentary is going to be included, I would think you wouldn't need cast interviews as an option (mostly because every doc I've seen already has them). Same with restoration. Also, I excluded add on books because I'm assuming book stores would still be a thing, and I could pick up something like the Dark Knight's artbook or the ones for Dark Crystal and Labyrinth that I already have (and the latter two are superior to their digibooks, along with Henson's biography; though it's rather obvious Sony wants you to buy the new book they just put out for DC given that they advertised the hell out of it).

-Reversible cover Artwork (Your choice of what is on each side) -- To me, this covers original poster art and commissioned cover art if I want either.
-Alternate cuts of the film -- To me, any deleted scenes would be represented this way
-Theatrical/VHS Trailers
-Comprehensive Documentary (45min - 60min minimum in length)
-Arrow style Booklet

My Choices: (in no order of importance)
1. Reversible cover Artwork (Bit of a cheat, since I would put the poster art on one side, and commissioned cover art on the other)
2. Criterion style case (don't really need the wasted blue plastic at the top of blu's anymore)
3. 2-3 Commentaries
4. Theatrical/VHS Trailers
5. Comprehensive Documentary (45min - 60min minimum in length)

I never bought an Arrow release, so I don't have an opinion on that either way.

Alternate cuts of the film - By far my #1 want.
Reversible cover Artwork - Original and newly commissioned. Best of both worlds.
Premium Case - Something like Arrow does or a chipboard box like with LE anime releases. I don't care for steelbooks or Digibooks.
Arrow style Booklet - Nice to read at least once.
Original Theatrical Audio mix

I rarely ever watch special features anymore, so all of that stuff isn't really important to me.
