I'll literally pass out if Batman '89 comes on 4K fully remastered like Superman is.

It's the 40th anniversary, but I still wasn't expecting this. Let's just hope we get the theatrical cut and the original audio(even if it's not remixed in Atmos).

I'm in if it has the extended cut (not the TV one, the other one).

Great news. It’s funny—I initially started buying UHDs just out of curiosity and mainly stuck with newer films since I thought contemporary films would get the most benefit from “4K.” Buy now it’s these older films I get the most excited about. This should look lovely.

With all the talk of Batman 1989 it got me thinking about how some of the special effects will hold up in the format, such as the animated effects. Hopefully we’ll find out soon.

When I was a projectionist, I played this movie for one of our Classic Movie Nights, and about ~180 showed up. I've still never seen it though.

Next year is the 30th anniversary for Lethal Weapon 2, When Harry Met Sally, Steel Magnolias, and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids as well. It wouldn't surprise me to see one or two of those coming to 4K. I don't think Sony would pass up the chance to do When Harry Met Sally. Or Steel Magnolias. I'm really surprised they didn't go 4K for the anniversary of Sleepless in Seattle. They're all about anniversaries.

If it's remixed in Atmos, it isn't the original audio.

I'm hoping we get the original audio as well as an Atmos remix, to satiate both crowds (I'll be listening to the original, of course).

Well I meant more specifically the original sound FX and not that altered 5.1 remix.

I believe the rights to When Harry Met Sally belong to MGM now.

Anyway, I think Disney isn't going deep enough into the catalog for 4K Honey I Shrunk the Kids now, and I imagine WB would either release Lethal Weapon 1 first or do a series collection rather than trying to match the anniversary of the sequel.

SHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! They'll hear you. We don't need Mr. Freeze in HDR/Dolby Vision. The movie's bad enough on its own. Let's not make it any worse.

I may be mistaken, but I could've sworn I bought When Harry Met Sally on Blu-ray from Sony/Columbia.

Ah, makes sense. Even in remixes, I do hate when sound effects get replaced. I'm actually unaware of issues with other releases of this title. Were sound effects replaced?

If they can also release the other Ned Beaty comic book movies on 4K (Superman II, Captain America) that would be cool.
