It's the anniversary of the theatrical addition. I'm quite happy for them not to go out of their way to commemorate the added "carpet material" version.

One TV scene in particular was meant to foreshadow H2, so it makes sense for them to stay separate from the film.

Cool for people who missed out on the steelbook. I'm happy with the 35th anniversary steelbook but if the 40th anniversary gets a nice packaging, i'm in. It's 'Halloween' after all, one of my favorite horror movie.
I just wish we would get a complete box like the US. THIS would be an instant buy.

Pair the latest transfer with the original mono and I may be tempted, since that's really all I miss on the 35th anniversary edition.

Well, them releasing it on UHD would also be welcome, of course.

I'm not against the Extended Cut being made available for those that want it, but those extra scenes stick out like a sore thumb.

Because of the high pricing, I wonder if this will be a 4K UHD version? Similar to Deer Hunter scenario.

Lionsgate have released so much random stuff on 4K in the US, if they've got the rights over there then this has got to get a 4K release as well, shirley?

The Criterion LD did it first.

I was thinking the same. I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled for it as some of their recent catalogue releases have been pretty decent in the PQ/AQ department. I've got so many copies of Halloween now, one more version couldn't hurt...

Baseorg.uk has only the DVD and Blu-ray versions listed, looks like I'll be importing the 4K from the US if Lionsgate leave us out.

Wouldn't they have listed it at the same time?

Also, there's nothing new on Amazon.com

Also...

It would seem obvious; with Halloween being one of the seminal horror classics of the 20th century, this year marking the 40th anniversary and with a brand new, direct sequel coming up. But can't take anything for granted!

A boxed deluxe 4K steelbook release with a booklet and other assorted goodies would be most welcome. This classic film deserves it.

When it comes to puns, I can cut the mustard.

BTW: yes, I am manically depressed, a condition which often causes the use of puns. I'm not exactly A1 at the moment...

The above pun a bit obscure in the UK, and something for any Americans looking in

I'd love to have a disc that has the original colour timing and another one that has the THX DVD's colour timing.

We will get whatever Dean wants it to look like at that particular second, and we will like it.
