i'd return just about anything since when i'd say no my boss would just approve it and make me look like a douche anyway....

I wised up to this nonsense at Radio Shack real fast. If I couldn't return the item, I politely told them try talking to the manager (or district manager). They usually thanked me for my help. If I had to take the return anyway, they didn't have this "I won" smugness because they thought I was being helpful. Lot less stress that way.

I remember a guy having to get his cell phone repaired. Claimed it fell in a bucket of water. I thought that had to be the most unusual thing ever. I asked questions and the answers were elusive. Anyways, off to repair. Then I get this same story from a lady that it fell in a bucket of water. I must have heard this at least 3 times in near 1.5 years at the shack. Didn't take long to realize these people were dropping their cell phones in the toilet!

Had this happen at my store and heard of it happening at others. Someone's item about the size of a standard VCR comes back from repair completey wrapped and sealed in plastic. Very unusual. The item came back as unrepairable. Why? ITEM IS INFESTED WITH ROACHES! Dude, if the inside of your equipment has a colony of roaches living in it, spending money on electronics should not be your priority! Disgusting people.

Speaking of disgusting people. We had a drunk guy linger in the store about 45 minutes. He was a known town bum and reportedly played keyboards for Tito Puente at one time. Well, this guy stunk like crazy. Fresh and dried pee stains all over his pants mingled with alcohol laced BO. When he left we flung the doors open for at least 10 minutes in the dead of winter to clear the smell out. Froze the store out too. Hours later when Sandra walks in for the second shift, she sniffs, looks at me with a crinkled nose and says, "What is that smell?" Honest to God true story.

"Are you crazy? Don't you understand what I'm saying to you? This is not just an odour-- you need a *priest* to get rid of this thing!" - Jerry on the smell from hell / Seinfeld

Smelly People

All Day Everyday.

My co-slave joked that we need to put a deodorant end cap in the front of the store.

I worked at an Electronics Store.

It is a minor miracle I didn't end up stabbing a customer in the eye with my pen.

oh ya. that stuff was horrible. when I was a cashier at a gas station (in one of those tiny armored booths) there was a female coworker who well. lets say didn't take very care of herself. so whenever i'd work after her the booth would need to be aired out for about half an hour to clear out the smell. that was rough. a girl was actually let got from my wife's work for refusing to take care of her b.o.

There was something on the news a few months ago about two women who have a rare condition where as they smell all the time. It is genetic so there is no cure. They control it with diet and can't eat fish and probably most meats. The one white lady was really attractive, and obviously still single because of the smell. Even if she found a guy who didn't care, and felt the oder was under control, do you really want to raise kids with that condition?

AMEN! I learned the vast majority of my people skills working with the general public. I hope I NEVER find myself in a situation where I have to do that for a living again. Volunteer work, or even a part time job you don't need could be fun, but as a required full time job, just torture.

The ultimate revenge against a moronic customer happened about 10 years ago when I was running a shift at a McDonalds...

Being short staffed as usual, I was tending the front end of the Drive-Thru and by some miracle, the cars stopped coming, but the lady who as driving the last car came back in the store and started shakeing the bag like a psycho screaming: "You messed up my orde! Yoiu messed up my order!".

Well, I was quitting in 4 days, but at this point I was still being polite.

ME:
What did miss?

HER:
You didn't give me my goddamn mustard packet!

At this point, the twenty or so people's heads in lobby suddenly all looked at her and they all had the WTF? expressions. Then the psycho lady proceeds to go on about how bad her day was, how our McDonalds is worse than Hitler, ect, then she says: "...You know, any idiot could work here!"

I simply smiled and said: "Why, do you want a job here?"

She was about to say something when everyone in line busted out laughing. She gave me the look of death and stormed out, but what I didn't expect was a kid around 13-15yrs old who screamed "Bye, *****!" as she was headed out the door.

I work for CC and was recently called to customer service for a cust complaint. I was like okay wheve I was in a good mood. I get there and a guy with an old RCA alarm clock, and a reciept from a year ago with his purchase on it. He said he wanted to return it. I was like why (curiousity since I was not gonna do it anyway.) he said one of the LED lights was out and his wife did not want to mail it in to RCA for repair. So I kindly said I am sorry we cant return an item we dont carry anymore and that is way out of return policy (30days). He gets pissed and says "this is why I dont shop here!" I take my money to BB he said and I said great for you. He than goes to say i spend thousands there and how he wont spend that hear, so I said stop it there because your on the wrong side of this argument, as he looks puzzled and angry at me I say you dont argue about what you dont spend at my store in hopes of me helping you, plus I said if you dont spend the money at my store anyways I am not loosing anything. What a toolbag, I loved hating that guy.

It doesn't make sense to threaten your local BB or CC with taking your business to the competition. They BOTH have return policies. Costco returns this crap, but they carry all kinds of stuff. Radio Shack can be pretty liberal in the returns policy, although you sometimes have to fight for it.

All upset over a clock that had to be well under 30 bucks. I got really upset once over some bad VHS tape and made a stink. I never want to make myself look that stupid again. I'll only tell the people off if they have it coming.

It's a small miracle I haven't been fired for stabbing customers in the eye with my pen. They deserved it.

I work at BB for the discount and to sell Blu's, once I feel my job is done (and I've graduated college) I'm gonna be partying when I quit that place.
