Great news!

I'm hoping he's still on the bridge of a ship. The Enterprise would be nice. A new crew would be good, too. The TNG crew can pop in, too. I'd love Brent Spiner back as Data, but I think that would be too much to hope for.

No matter how they bring him back, I'm all in.

When a friend told me about this a few minutes ago i jokingly said can't be more prime universe stuff unless someone use phonewave(Name to be decided) to send a dmail. I guess Sern will come after us now lol?

If there is just 'one' good story... ONE GOOD STORY out of this new series, it would have all been worth it. The Prime Star Trek universe has been plagued by Nemesis ever since it's release because it pretty much represented the end of the Prime franchise as we knew it. The idea that movie is where everything ends is just sickening. I'm glad they're giving it another shot.

Here's hoping that Alex Kurtzman keeps his "How do I make this so I continue to indulge JJ Abrams?" ego away from it.

The standing ovation we gave him here in Las Vegas brought tears to his eyes. They told us to stay tuned for an announcement from Alex Kurtzman but no one expected this. So excited to have two Trek TV Shows on at the same time again!

I'll guess that he is the head of Starfleet Academy, it will give them loads of young actors they can transition to a later series if it is popular. It will give them plenty of freedom to bring through original actors on guest basis.
I imagine him playing a Boothby role part of the time, casually gardening and mentoring.
