How have they lied?
They may be running a sinking ship but at no time have they lied.

I'm not sure. I think those of us by us I mean Blu-Ray and HD-DVD that purchased while the format war was going on all took a leap of faith.

One we knew could end for either party. Luckily for us we won. I know if the tables had gone red, I'd be upset, but I'd have no one to blame but myself. People need to start accepting their own mistakes and stop trying to blame others all the time.

if they're suing everyone who lied to them... shouldn't they also target rdjam and amir? All Toshi did was present their product. rdjam and amir misled the HD-DVD folks into buying into Toshiba's lame product.

The words Caveat Emptor come to mind. People who invested in HD DVD had just as much to lose as those who invested in Blu-ray. People who jumped into the HD pool knew what they were getting into.

HD DVD supporters chose the wrong format, so tough break it happens to us all. In the end Toshiba/HD DVD would not really pay the lawsuit, consumers and taxes would do that....

While I'm not a lawyer, I play one on this forum. Considering the history of laser disc vs. RCA's CED discs, or VHS versus Betamax, DVD-Audio versus SACD, etc., I don't believe what Toshiba or MS did was actionable.
