Its not announced with a date.
The label (Koch Media) just confirmed that they will bring it on blu ray but they dont know the date yet.

I wish they'd complete The Guardian and Crossing Jordan instead of releasing a show that's already out in three other countries.

The German release will be a shi*tload of work because every single episode has been cut by ~5 minutes at initial airing. So the aim is to provide a way to watch both the uncut versions in English, as well as the cut versions in German. And that's quite a nightmare-ish undertaking.

You have see this different:
In Germany a lot of people watches shows and movies with the german dub.
So far there is NO Release of Miami Vice in HD with the german dub.
This will be the first one.

And like TheHutt pointed out: The situation for this show is a nightmare cause the german episodes are cut. And they created a special sound mix for the cut version in which in a cut scene the music starts different and is mixed for the shorter scene. So you cant just fill the scenes up with original audio.
Its really a nightmare for a distributor to do the right thing with it.
At the moment the plan seems to release both versions.

That's cool if they pull it off, wish they nabbed Baywatch instead of that other lazy company.

There's also no HD release of the final seasons of The Guardian and Crossing Jordan in any language in any country, and releasing those would take no work or extra editing at all, which makes it all the more crazy that they're choosing to undertake this mammoth task when they could complete shows they already started.

Couple of questions about this set if anyone would be kind enough to help.
Can I watch with the original English audio, without any subtitles, or are they hardcoded? Are all the interviews with Mann etc all in English audio? if so, are the subtitles hardcoded?

ANSWER: You have to adjust the settings to English 5.1 or English 2channel and set it with no subtitles.

ANSWER: For interviews. I have not got to that.

Yes and so is the packaging. Now as for how the blurays look after season 1 episode 4 they start to look great.
But season 2 episode 1 when they go to NY looks like total crap!

Has anyone played the 2.0 lossless stereo track on a surround system that has the Dolby Surround decoder? If so does the Dolby Surround decoder play it as surround?

Does this French set have true stereo English for all the Season 1 episodes (as opposed to the Mill Creek US set where only the pilot is in stereo and the rest of Season 1 is in mono)?

EDIT: I see now from some digging that the German sets are like the Mill Creek as far as which Season 1 episodes are mono instead of stereo, so I'm just going to assume the French will be that way too.
