Please please please release The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires on bluray next! Plague of the Zombies and DRACULA Prince of Darkness are solid titles to add to the Scream collection.

Still have my DVD of this title, so this'll make for a nice upgrade; here's hoping this bodes well for more of the old Anchor Bay Hammer Collection titles making it to Blu via Scream.

Yeah, I'll add my voice to the chorus calling for The Reptile, John Gilling's "Cornwall films" of 1966 won't be complete without it! Though I've no doubt these films were shot nowhere near Cornwall...

I already have the excellent Studio Canal blu-ray with a lovely transfer and good set of extras but region A locked fans should look forward to one of the best second-tier Hammer pics with a great performance from Hammer regular Andre Morell.

Agreed, would love to retire my Anchor Bay 7 Golden Vampires, excited to see an upgrade in picture quality.

Fingers crossed that SF can dig up some pretty good extras, although over 90% of the people associated with the film have passed (including Jacqueline Pearce just last month). Hopefully a commentary with a POTZ/Hammer historian will be included.
I would have thought that Shout will simply include the Studio Canal documentaries that already exist rather than make fresh ones when so many have died since they were made.
On DPOD we see a very frail Francis Matthews and Barbara Shelley and it would be criminal not to include those.

Who owns these movies in the US? In the UK DPOD and the rest of the titles that look to be coming from Shout are owned by Studio Canal and they do not own 7 Golden Vampires.
I believe that is owned by Warner in the UK and US

I doubt many long term Hammer fans would place Plague of the Zombies anywhere in a second tier.
It's top notch stuff and one of their very best movies and certainly sits near the top of the pile of everything made in the 60's.

Fans new to it have one particular scene to look forward to. I envy them seeing it for the first time. Anyone who knows the film will know the scene I mean but to refer to it as it is known would actually spoil it for newcomers

The real problem for you will be avoiding a spoiler between now and the release. Once you know the spoiler it's never quite the same again although it still remains one of the best scenes in any Hammer movie

Hmmm. I've seen this maybe 3-4 times in the last couple of years since first seeing it but I'm blanking on the particular scene in question.

Good, I was afraid they'd go to Frankenstein Created Woman next and leave me unconvinced they had the whole Studiocanal-released library. I'll see if there's anything to make this worth buying over the Aussie disc I have. It's definitely one of the better Hammer flicks, very highly recommended.

GREAT ! Finally, some Hammer Horror that has not been released in the USA on blu before. I already have an Austrailian blu of this, BUT, I will still buy this Scream Factory release day one just to do my part to encourage Scream Factory to continue to release more Hammer on blu-ray. The more of these classic releases we buy, the more we will see classic horror and classic sci-fi released on blu-ray.

7 Golden Vampires is big fun (Hammer's attempts to cater to the changing tastes of moviegoers towards the end of their reign led to some pretty wild films). As Anchor Bay did back in the day, I'd like to see any release include the badly truncated American re-edit The 7 Brothers Meet Dracula, if only for a sense of completion (and besides, any excuse to include that riotous trailer where an overly punctilious narrator consistently says "The 7 brothers, and their 1 sister, meet Dracula!" Is comic gold).

According to The Warner Years documentary 7 Golden Vampires was more to do with what Warner wanted than Hammer and it came about because of existing relationships Warner had with the orientals
