Yeah, it really just depends on what you're looking for. "Monster House" is great for the whole family. Just watched it a couple days ago and the way they integrated the MoCap was pretty cool. Definitely added a whole other dimension to the animation.

If you're looking for straight up horror, then "Silent Hill" is cool, but I don't know how well people can appreciate it if they haven't played the video game. I played the original and all the sequels so it's hard for me to be objective about it.

One other option is "House of Wax". Besides Paris Hilton being a little annoying, I actually enjoyed this movie.

I'll have to check out House of Wax on BD. The end was really cool looking on regular DVD.
