That's Amazon... Media Play Magazine gets the actual numbers from all retailers and 4K is outselling 3D counterparts by a long shot. (The closest in the listing is about 5 to 1, 4K over 3D)

You can claim (b***h) that stores like Target, Best But et all aren't stocking 3D, but they stock what they can sell.

Looking at their latest issue there is one title (Ice Age Collision course) where the 3D outsold the 4k edition (1% vs .5%), but both are absolutely crushed by the standard Blu-ray. You're correct that for MOST titles the 4K outsells the 3D, but in all cases the standard blu-ray sales dwarf both niche formats and in many cases DVD outsells blu-rays.

MediaPlay's numbers seem to be for the US or NA market only, so it would be interesting to see the numbers for Europe or other territories where there hasn't been a conscious effort to push 4K over 3D.

I think there's even been a few Disney titles that didn't get 4K disc releases in Europe, so they had to import those from here if they wanted them.

Damn. What's with all the hostility on this forum lately?
It's so easy for someone like fitprod to sit safely behind his screen and
call someone else a b***h because he doesn't have to see the pain he
inflicts upon them. Pretty sad.

Why even bother being in the 3D section then if you aren't a fan? There's a section dedicated to 4k for you.

Infinity War was supremely average and the only thing that saved it for me was the 3D. I imagine it will be the same with this one.

Marvel's confidence has grown over the course of 20 films to the point where they are basically bringing comics to life and 3D has become an integral part of that. Nobody has seen anything like it. Other than Ed Norton's turn as the Hulk and the first two Iron Man movies, every movie has been in 3D, they may be conversions but that's the longest series of films in 3D ever. Anyone with two eyes can see what 3D is bringing to the table in these films. And on 3D Blu-ray, as with the original comics, we can enjoy the Marvel universe at home. They would literally have to turn evil to deny this to us in the future.

At what point did I call someone a b***h? It was referring to complaining/b***hing which is generally the only reason seem to post here anymore.

I was pointing out the sales facts that cover the whole industry not just that Amazon based sales.

Probably should have used a slash instead of brackets, or just said b***h and not said "claim" at all, but in any case, let's keep the language civil from now on (even though we're all politely censoring ourselves) and take the Blu-ray 3D sales chat to the appropriate thread.

Blu-ray 3D numbers released/sold etc - general discussion: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=286244

Any future posts on this topic will be moved there.

This trailer. . .Everyone is so depressed and somber. It's like Marvel made a movie about the 3D forum. Who will be our Paul Rudd?

All this Marvel 3D talk has made me realize the late great Stan Lee has been in more 3D movies than anyone I can think of....

Well, at least the trailer resolves the question of what happens at the end of Ant-Man and The Wasp.

And it is nice to see that Captain America finally has a shave.

Whatever happens in the movie, if it's even half as cosmic as what happens towards the end of the original Infinity Gauntlet story, I will be happy.

Gonna bet it rhymes with "rime ravel".

And while I enjoyed the humor, I'm a little miffed they show Lang (Ant-Man) in the trailer. Leave a little mystery, guys. (I mean, it's probably Captain Marvel that somehow pulls him out of the quantum realm? Maybe?) That part makes me think this trailer wasn't supposed to be released so soon.

Can't wait for this movie to come out!! Didn't Iron Man talk about end game first? In Age of Ultron?

As far as marketing goes, Marvel know what they're doing. Lang showing up at the end made the trailer seem less depressing. And just a little humorous. I suppose it was better than Captain Marvel popping up to save the day.

It wouldn't be a Marvel movie if they didn't shoehorn some lame humour in there

Well summed up with how Marvel has been respecting the importance of strong 3D cinema. It really makes the movie more immersive and a joy to watch in 3D most times. They have been hitting it out of the park lately. I'm thrilled by the shift towards stronger 3D conversions by Marvel's producers and the conversion teams involved. Aquaman's 3D just took a step in the same direction, but we'll see if DC can keep the impressive 3D going with Shazam and their film after that, which I believe is Wonder Woman 2 3D this year.

Paul Rudd as Ant Man definitely has a positive anttitude.
That reminds me of how he likes to name certain ants with the word Ant in there.

But you like humor in certain films. Look at Back to the Future, or Planes Trains and Automobiles. But it's the type of humor that matters for you. If they removed the humor from all Marvel films, would you consider them better films overall? Do you prefer the mostly serious tone of Man of Steel?

What about the scene in Ant Man 1's trailer, when he says at :45 seconds into the trailer (the movie is uncut) "My days of breaking into places and stealing sh_t are over. What do you want me to do?" And Michael Douglas' character responds, "I want you to break into a place and steal some sh_t."

For me, that was one of the funniest lines in all of the Marvel films so far, and still gets me laughing. Does that not at least make you smile?

While I agree that the story was predictable and not as emotionally engaging as other plots, would you say the choreography to the fight scenes and the action is just average then? Compared to what other average action films? Just wondering what action films you're basing your standard on for the action in the Marvel films. Thanks.
