This movie should come out next year on UHD. Just in time to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Expect this one and Something to Talk About.

I would love to get this in 4K. I remember saving up $20 as a kid to buy the VHS from Blockbuster. Never upgraded it yet haha. I think I finally will if it gets the UHD treatment!

Owned it on VHS (with a botched audiotrack, they switch the left and right channels on the release in my country), DVD, Blu-ray and I will own it again when/if it gets released on UHD.

Another reason for the possible release is that a new MK film is nearing it's production and has a release date set for 2021. So it's definitely higher chance now.

Don't forget the Legacy web series, highly recommended IMO.

Damn, all this talk about the movie makes me want to watch it yet again (even though I have already seen it a 1000 times, most recent viewing was last month).

Saw this opening night at the theater and several of the other local arcade players were there. Always enjoyed this one. It's kind of funny how back then I was probably like a top 5 area player and may have played several thousand hours. But when I practiced a bit and challenged people online at the games I grew up with I was getting schooled by nearly everyone. People play the games differently than we did growing up, or at least to a degree. For example, it would really anger people back then to use throws or do close-combat jabs, etc. The good players I played online were really good at close-up combat and also very rarely jumped. MK2 is still probably my favorite fighting game of all time.

I rewatched both 90’s MK movies recently. The first is corny but still a really fun movie. I almost never pay for DLC but I bought the movie versions of Sonya, Johnny Cage and Raiden for MK 11. I thought it was amazing they were able to get the actors to come in and do the lines and motion capture for it.

Annihilation? Hilariously awful. Like, how does a train wreck to that degree even happen? It was like a porn parody without the porn (at least they had that mud fight!)

It's really great they added legacy costumes from Klassic MK games and especially the movie costumes. I wanted movie version of Kano too. At least the skin, since the actor passed away sadly.

Someone scanned 35mm trailer recently, so I adjusted pics a bit to make it closer to theatrical colors (removed pink shift):

BD and DVD are too pink/purple as well. Still waiting for a 4K.

Pretty disappointing that this wasn't prepared to coincide with the release of the most recent live action film.

They're filming the sequel currently. So not everything is lost yet.

WB did a bunch of series already. So it makes sense they will do both.

And I will take both, to be honest. As long as they won't rape it with DNR too much.

With the '21 MK film, I thought that was the perfect chance to release it.
