I'd like to see him tackle something different as well.

How about a hagsploitation/musical mash-up starring Diane Wiest and Faye Dunaway?

Hopefully he has a co-writer who knows what they're doing.

I predict a bunch of scenes of exposition strung together with Hans Zimmer's score drowning out half of what is being said.

I better start saving my coins so I can get to see it the way Nolan intends for it to be seen

I want something totally unexpected and original. Written solely by him, no co-writers (a la Inception, Dunkirk).

I honestly don't think he'll make an R-rated film + IMAX = shifting AR since there's no way he'll shoot the whole film in IMAX (because he's Nolan lol).

I still think there's a TINY chance of something R-rated. TINY, but still existent.

But yeah, it's going to be IMAX. I don't think there's a snowball's chance in hell that it won't.

I just threw up a little in my mouth.

No, I think something rated R might be interesting from Nolan. But whether I think it's interesting or not, I just don't see it happening.

But like I said, who knows? I certainly don't. Only he does.

I don't know about that. It would be interesting to see a R-rated Nolan film but he seems to be doing fine with PG-13. He challenges it to the max. Dunkirk, TDK both were intense and horrifying but were still within the limits of PG-13.
Not to forget his movies are huge budget wise so gotta make that money back and more.

IMAX photography is definitely the most stunning film format that exists and I would love to see a feature film fully shot on IMAX but with Nolan, it won't happen. Dunkirk is as full IMAX as it can/needed to be according to Nolan himself. It being so visual with little dialogue and the short run time helps too. Luckily, the shifting AR doesn't bother me at all.

I'd both cream and crap my pants.

But Fox would have to sell Alien to Warner first.

I completely agree with all of that.

Which is why I said, there's a "TINY" chance. Sort of like, there's a TINY chance of me dating Mila Kunis, or something.

Whatever Nolan ends up making, regardless of genre, it should be worth checking out. Perhaps unavoidably, if its status as an "event film", with an IMAX release in blockbuster season, is anything to go by. Color me intrigued.

Nolan doing a big R-rated thing would be great, but tbh, I feel his movies are intense and gritty enough despite being PG-13.
