I suspect a new restoration will come from Vinegar Syndrome through their Cinématographe line in the future. That line has released two of Demme's films already (most recently SWIMMING TO CAMBODIA, its first ever Blu-Ray release) and this appears to fit their whole thing of hidden/under-appreciated/forgotten gems.
