I can't believe they are doing this. If so I'm DONE buying releases here and will only buy from Amazon US going forward.

Disney was the one company I could rely on for proper artwork and now it's over. What, the yellow peel off stickers were not enough? Unbelievable that this is even a thing. Hopefully steelbooks aren't next.

Can anyone confirm whether the Disney Movie Rewards are still valid? Previously when amazon would send me those bilingual versions, those codes wouldn’t give points because Quebec wasn’t allowed to participate.

I guess Marvel titles are affected, as well. Captain America: The First Avenger's 4K release this week has a cover all gunked up with French, as well.

Hopefully this causes them to lose enough business that they reverse course, or just close up shop as if this is what they're going to release, it's not even worth it. Easy enough to buy from the US.

Yeah I ordered from Amazon.ca since it was the same price as Best Buy. The bilingual covers are truly awful.

I was going to pick up the 4K release of Captain America: The First Avengers until I saw the cover. Sucks.

I went to Wal-Mart to pick up Ralph Breaks the Internet and just about plotszed right there in the store. But I figured it was just a mix-up with their order until I noticed that the Captain America: The Winter Soldier 4K release was the same. Tried another Wal-Mart out of desperation and found The Little Mermaid 4K with the same clap-trap.

Well, f*ck.

Disney was the last of the major studio hold-outs and now we've only got the boutique distribution labels. How long before the government starts making them do bilingual covers?

There's been some discussion about this in the Canadian hot deals thread. It really is a shame we can't keep our already large Disney collections consistent with all the future ones now.

Here's an upcoming Sony release... I hope they're not taking the same route that Disney is... yikes.

For comparison, here's the American version:

WowHD would have been a better option. Or the Target exclusive Digipack, which I just got charged $57 for on my cc lol

Aren't the Steelbooks still available on BestBuy.ca as well?

Can anyone confirm how this affects the digital copy codes that are included in these bilingual packaging? I saw someone post that their iTunes copy of Ralph Breaks the Internet redeemed the French version but haven’t seen anything since. Does it still give the option of English or French like past Disney titles?

I think this is a clear case of "everyone loses" when you try to side-by-side squish french and english content.

From the back of my Big Lebowski 4k (CAN) box.

Right!? No one is able to properly read that, what's the point of even putting information on now?

I've ranted about this issue prior (I DESPISE IT), but the worst "offenders" are the pill bottles. There is no way you can read the ingredients, or instructions, without having to use a microscope, hell, maybe even a telescope would be better sometimes?!

I'm just going have to order strictly from Amazon US going forward. Will be my go to for my movies unless it's a bestbuy steelbook.

Does Amazon not get Disney releases right away? Since I never had to worry about Disney before, I never took notice. I remember not seeing Ralph when it was released.

Have you tried WowHD?
https://www.wowhd.ca/search?mod=ST&q...ailabledateNew

Check the pricing, compared to Amazon.com. The WowHD prices are in CAD and include tax and shipping so nothing is added at checkout. Might help!

I've been doing this for years now and with the "loss" of the last major studio that was English only in Canada, that nail has been hammered.

Amazon and Disney are in a spat at the moment over profits or something like that. They have been for quite some time, so Disney titles sell out almost as soon as they go live. Then when they do come back in stock, they almost always go "prime members only". You'll be lucky if you can get one in the first six months.

I bought the bilingual and the digital copy loaded like normal for me. I was able to select English and the menus appear normal. Same for Little Mermaid.
