Each individual release was three discs, right? Are there any steelbook that can hold that many? Most I've seen is six stacked three to a side in the Spider-Man set.

It will almost certainly be stacked discs.

didnt think about stacked discs. i hate that crap. The Back to the Future trilogy did that & it could have been done w/o if they wanted. the worst offender i got for that was Super Troopers 1 & 2 steel. that made no damn sense for 2 of the 3 discs to be stacked. still glad a steel happened for those movies but that was ridiculous.
