If this were a 4K release I would more than likely bite but I have the last blu ray release with the Best Buy metalpak already so for now its a pass. If it lingers a bit and goes on sale I may bite.

I already have the Target digibook and the Zavvi SB. I just don’t have the digital. Not sure whether to buy one of these new exclusives or just buy a member’s digital code.

i think at this point is not the content but the steelbook, i have the original VIVA and Zavvi's and love both but i will triple dip since i can see based on the pix it seems like some kind of debossin/embossing and i'm pretty sure it will be glossed lol, i was kind of hoping for this to not be cool so i could have save some money but i'm doomed lol

I have bought these Disney movies so many times I can't justify buying a new CASE for a movie I already have. I need a 4K upgrade or bust.

That looks really really nice! I wish it was in 4K, which is rare for me to say, but I already own the previous blu ray. I don't own a steelbook, but not sure I want to spend the dough unless I upgrade. :\

......I'm a little flabbergasted that people are complaining about the lack of 4K....over an animated movie from 1950.

I'm gonna take a wild guess - a real shot in the dark - and say filming and animation technology back then didn't account for today's ridiculous picture fidelity.

It's re-used clipart from the Diamond Edition's cover which, like you suggested, is based off of a piece of clipart on on the Platinum:




The Platinum got the positions of Bruno and Major right, but the Diamond dumped Bruno and put Major in his place for some reason. I guess that artist wasn't paying much attention. He or she also painted the palace backwards.

I even own the gold-framed Diamond Edition and never noticed that error until now. It must be because I started examining these Best Buy steels so thoroughly for chips and slashes lol
