Dang it. Picked too quick and overlooked that Pets 2 is opening too. Should've chosen that instead lol.

I'm not confident enough in its potential to predict it, but Bharat will definitely make the top 13. Most likely the top 10.

That's more than enough and it's not like the bottom competition is making much at all.

Fair enough. I hope it plays somewhere I can watch, don't get to see much Bollywood fare unless it cracks the top 15

It opened today and it’s playing in at least 8 theaters in my area. A lot of the early evening showings have sold out.

The only thing that might hurt it this weekend is the Wednesday opening. These movies are usually pretty front-loaded.

I voted for Pets, and it will certainly win.

I despise the film already, because they keep running ads for it -- I am literally so sick of this movie. Not that I would be seeing it, anyways. But I cannot wait for the time when they just stop torturing me.

Seating charts at Harkins for both openers are looking pretty sparse in Cine1, but are selling well in non-premium theaters. Pretty much a guarantee that SLOP2 (heh) will open lower than the SLOP1.

SLOP2 $63 mil
Dark Phoenix $38 mil
Late Night $7 mil

Little to no confidence in Dark Phoenix, it seems.

Yesterday was also Eid al-Fitr, aka the end of Ramadan. Bollywood movies released during the weekend after the end of Ramadan generally do well at the box office. While the day of Eid al-Fitr is usually the biggest date, it extends into the weekend.

‘Dark Phoenix’ Rises In China With $12M+ Launch Day

If the movie holds audience attention over the next few days, this portends a $50M+ opening for the full weekend.

Brightburn:

Quote:
Sony's BRIGHTBURN will lose -1,594 theaters in its 3rd weekend, leaving it just over 1,000 venues. Do or die in the summer season. Still, with a $6M budget and $25M worldwide...don't shut the barn door on that sequel just yet.
