According to this there were 2000 copies.
I've seen them selling in the $60-100 range in the past. If I owned the original I would be annoyed because the value will take a big hit now with how easy this FYE release should be to get. Unless the same thing happens all over again.

OK, I see the note there:

Per Zavvi on May 8, 2015:
1500 copies shipped, 500 damaged in transit from supplier.
They are trying to obtain replacements.

The conjuring will definitely get its own 4K UHD steel at some point. Same for the second one.

Would've bought this in a second if it was a 4k, or maybe even a remaster. Looks nice, but I don't want to buy the same old disc again.

Yeah, with a 3rd movie in the main franchise on the way, I'd assume 1 and 2 will get 4ks around the time that hits either theaters or disc.

Exactly. I wouldn't touch that no way no how! Japanese release from Kadokawa Movie holds the trophy of the best available release from the film when it comes to PQ, even with 1080i format, and its almost always on sale.

The UK release is the best when considering both the PQ and AQ. It's superior to the US presentation.

I plan to get the FYE steelbook and put the UK disc inside.

Anybody have an opinion on this vs the digibook?

I know the digi is going to have a lot of cool photos but I really like the black color, the back art and hopefully something inside. The Conjuring has inside art so I’m optimistic.

I also missed the zavvi because my order got cancelled when they didn’t have enough and this feels like a second chance without ridiculous eBay prices.

But now the digi comes along too and it’s quite nice and obviously will be loaded with photos.

Ugh.

it depends on finish, if that black color is on matte streaky finished, then it's a bummer, if it's gloss finished then it's really nice but it seems so far FYE steelbooks finished are hit or miss...

this is full gloss, inside art is same as rocketman random sparks which is looking like paramount go to for "inside art" on steels
