In that case I would say don't buy Dawn at the moment because there is a 4K set coming from Second Sight in the UK - that will be the one to shell out for!

Blade Runner 5-disc Collector's Edition for $34.95. I missed the sale when it released and ended up paying full retail a few months later if I recall. But still worth every penny.

Wonder when this will hit. I remember them saying this would come out in the summer, but that's highly doubtful now. Hopefully before Halloween.

The Deer Hunter UHD was expensive. I think I paid $55 CDN. Dawn of the Dead France UHD was even more, I think it was roughly $65.

I think the highest I've ever paid for a single movie title was the "Shin Godzilla" Blu-ray/4K 4 disc steelbook which was something like $120 shipped from Amazon Japan. I've paid more for a few multi-title box sets, sometimes stupidly as in the case of the Hellraiser Scarlet Box right before Arrow did a North America release. I'm pretty sure the most I've ever paid for a box set was the X-Files tv series which was somewhere around $175.

Check ebay on a daily basis. I was able to get the Arrow release (brand new and sealed, no less) for $20, and that was just a couple months ago. I've also seen the Umbrella release on ebay for $20 - $30. I hunted for about 3 months, so be patient. There are some people out there who don't know what they have. If you have no luck, just order the upcoming Second Sight release.

Single..... I don't know, maybe about $25. Most for a tv show or collection, about $100. All reasonable prices if I watch them many times over a decade or so. I think I probably paid more for DVDS now that I think of it, there seemed to be more in the way of gift/decorative sets than there are now. I think I paid around 40 for Evil Dead 2:Book of The Dead Edition (which I got signed later on by Bruce Campbell).

I recall paying $70 to import the Japanese "Premium Edition" steelbook for Terminator 2. Of course this was back when the only versions available domestically were the awful 2006 release (using MPEG-2 video) and the Skynet version (which was DNR'd to death).

Conversely, the most I've ever sold a Blu-ray for was $200 (it was the Bandai version of The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya). This was a few years after Bandai withdrew from the US market, and about a year before Funimation license-rescued the film so demand was rather high at the time.

I got lucky and found an (authentic) used copy of Dawn of the Dead on Blu a few months ago for about $11. It was right around the time the 4K was announced. You've waited this long so you might as well wait for the 4K.

I don't normally like to go past $20 for a single movie, and although I've been buying with way less frequency, there have been plenty of retailer exclusives I've made an exception for over the years and paid around $30 - $40 for.

It was Out of Stock for a very long time in Amazon. Then I received an email that the item was restocked. I bought it at $49.74

The Egyptian released by Twilight Time. I didn't really know about TT until it was sold out. I paid about $50 for it on eBay a few years ago.
