It has black and white segments, though most of it is in colour. (stumbled across it on telly the other day, had to finish watching to the end because it's one of those kinds of movies that you just can't turn down watching.)

Young Frankenstein and Creature from the Black Lagoon on UHD would be day 1 purchases for me.

Not sure about Black Lagoon, the 3D is so stunningly good.

I would go day 1 for CFTBL on 4K. Yes the 3D BD was amazing , although I can no longer play it in 3D (the Ex got that TV)

I can see getting Young Frankenstein sooner rather than later.

And it will be glorious.

Did the black and chrome edition of Fury Road get a 4k release? Would be interested in some Kurosawa and Dassin on 4K as well but that's probably never gonna happen (anytime soon at least).

The only way I would've thought this would've been 4K is digitally and Movies Anywhere only shows the black and chrome edition's highest quality available for purchase is HD.

I have relatively (meaning slight in this context) high hopes for 'Last Year..' as Studio Canal seem to be pushing the catalogue releases along in Europe. I do tweet at them about it from time to time so they know there's at least one punter out there who'd pay whatever the asking was on day one.

Did I read a rumour, or was it a dream, that Roma was going to be Criterion's first 4k disc sometime in the future? I'm sure Netflix would like the prestige of it.

I just wish Criterion would release the 4K restoration of "The Battle of Algeirs" on UHD disc, the theatrical 4K DCP looked truly remarkable

It's not entirely B&W, but I would love to see Pleasantville on UHD.

To me that is utterly bizarre that this film got a 4k release. It's brilliant that it has - but what is the rationale behind it?

Why don't more World Cinema releases get 4k discs? There are surely tens of more popular world cinema films than Les Tontons Flingeurs that would benefit from a 4k disc. (Not that I've seen it)

In reply to an earlier post.

I have the "Fury Road" Black & Chrome edition, and its Blu-ray only.

Raging Bull would be amazing. I'd go for:

The man who wasn't there
Rififi
Kiss me Deadly
Embrace of the Serpent
The Sword of Doom
City of Life and Death.

In terms of World Cinema, not just B&W, I would pay through the nose for a 4k version of Kieslowski's Three Colours Trilogy.

Forgot about Raging Bull and The Thing from Another World...big +1 for those!

I'd also love the original Scarface if we don't get a nice new BD with the upcoming UHD.
