oh okay ...

so I'd assume the Dolby Atmos mix if it's stated on the back IS a confirmation - that question is directed at Pieter V

Dubstar asking Pieter V is perfectly all right, how ever if you wait till 9 December or near then an owner of the disc could play the disc for real to check

The UHD version will be the "International" version. 24fps instead of 25, and it won't include the 10mins "behind the scenes" feature at the end of each episode, which is cut to make room for adverts when shown internationally

This is a fantastic series, but the cost of it at £30 on 4K is wa-ay too expensive. We waited for Planet Earth II and Blue Planet 2 to drop in price as well. And it's odd that the DVD and BD are available, but 4K isn't out until next Monday...

I wish the BBC would release some of the older Attenborough's on 4K, most of the Life series isn't even on blu-ray let alone 4K. Lots of it was shot on super 16 and 35 so would look great in 4K, and the Beeb usually takes good care of their negatives (when they keep them that is) so it could look quite nice really.

I find the BBC bring stuff out way too soon after broadcast, i mean, the screened television series just finished on Sunday night and they release the BD the following day!

We have a boatload to watch, so waiting for it to hit the £20 mark isn't a problem.

TheWildWhelk I suspect that the dvd/blu/ 4k go on sale to try to beat pirate copies.

Nope, the series hasn't even finished yet. There's still one episode left. This has been a tradition with the BBC for a while, they seem to make their Blus / DVDs available the week before the show even finishes - instead of the week after like the 4K.

starkrogersthor91 As I said earlier being quick with home video releases of TV shows is possibly to beat the pirates. Only as an example, one of the new Poldark series took so long to come to home video that I simply imported the PBS edition from USA, money that could have gone to a UK supply chain

This contains Atmos on both the 4K and the regular blu-ray discs!
