I tried watching the pilot episode and it was very, very awkward. Typical CW.

The original was an action series. This is a family drama that occasionally remembers the lead character is supposed to work in law enforcement.

Struggled to the end of season one hoping it would get better. It didn't. Lindsey Morgan was the best thing in it.

I haven't seen this, mainly because I was a fan of the original show and didn't want to see its reputation wrecked.

^^^ That's why I have never taken the time to watch it. In my opinion, it isn't even a re-boot. If it were, the original cast members would be a part of the show picking up where the original production left off.

She left the show ? that was the only reason I was going to watch.

Too much time spent on the family drama kind of killed it for me. I’m going to check out the prequel because it’s a Western. Hopefully I like it better.

Season One is being released on Blu-ray on September 20th. Probably gonna be the usual Paramount situation where it looks like it's BD-R on storefronts but turns out to be pressed for at least the initial run.

Arrived today.

Playback confirmed on my Region B player & it looks like the discs are indeed pressed. Oh and it has English SDH subs

Jensen Ackles thankfully broke from that "curse," but Jared Padalecki seems to be stuck as he's still doing a CW show, no less. And the acting/character didn't change too much either.

He was my favorite from the two brothers, anyway.

Shot on film and finished on video. The whole show would need to be reconstituted in HD. For some odd reason, the TV movie was shot in 16:9, in the early days of HD, but it's unknown if it was finished in HD.

It's all talk-talk, with the occasional bit of shoot-shoot. Cheap and easy to make, but a bore to watch.
