Yeah, I loved Rambo 4, it was great!

I didn't think that I could ever be as disappointed in a Rambo film as I was with Last Blood.

I badly wanted him to film a Rambo 5, but now I wish he had never made it. It will tarnish my view on all of the Rambo films forever, and it will even tarnish my view of Stallone himself. He should be ashamed of himself over Last Blood.
All the Rambo films (with the posibble exception of First Blood) could be looked at as propaganda. Not sure what makes this one any different.

I agree that with the possible exception of First Blood that all of the Rambo films had propaganda in them. But Last Blood was one endless propaganda piece.

In Last Blood the propaganda was aimed one direction, and Stallone is talking about making another Rocky film, and in it he would be aiming the propaganda the exact opposite way. Playing both sides of the fence.

He just destroyed my image of Rambo, I hope that he stands up and does the right thing and does NOT make another Rocky film for the sake of propaganda.

I would give an exact explanation of what I'm talking about, but I doubt that the mods would want this to turn into a big political discussion.

None. He showed Mexican human traffickers doing what Mexican human traffickers do. He also showed them getting what they deserve. Anyone who thinks this is propaganda probably thinks they're all doctors, and lawyers.

Human traffickers are bad, and do supremely evil things. Human traffickers thrive in Mexico. Movie is about a girl who gets trafficked. Omg how racist!

Hey that's funny, both you guys have Bobby Peru avatars.

I've never been a huge Rambo fan as they always seemed to me to be just mindless violence for the sake of violence and plot details were always secondary.
I did enjoy the first one though and VERY much enjoyed the 4th one as it played to my own sensibilities (despite the over the top body count) of John saving some well intentioned morons.
This one does not surprise me though as once more it takes a topical subject and throws gallons of blood at it.
I'll buy it, but only when they inevitably release the full movie series pack.
I have the dvd tin-pack of the previous 4 and will wait to upgrade to Blu when that happens.

I could be wrong but I dont think Studio Canal currently owns the home video rights to 4 and 5. They just recently released a Rambo Trilogy steelbook. If that's the case there wont be a full series pack anytime soon.

Im a huge fan of the character - I think he is an even better character than Rocky. But I dont think the movies have ever really reached the standards of the character. Even First Blood - which is a genuinely good to great movie - is not as good as it could have been given the fascinating character of Rambo. Although I find all the movies with the possible exception of part 3 to be enjoyable.

picked mine up at best buy today. This is one of those steelbooks that looks better in person. But I still dont like the lack of a title on the front. Mine had a small spine slash, but it blends in enough with the spine art that it is actually kind of tough to see and so I dont want to go through the effort to exchange it.

This movie had the bones of a Lifetime movie script but Rambo tacked on to it, which is to say it had some entertainment value, intentional or not, but was certainly not a good film. Which is a shame because the previous film was good.
