I had exactly the same issue with Blade Runner 2049. I was so scared of it ruining the original but knew I could ignore it if I needed to. To be honest, even if it was crap I would have liked it but as it turned out, I didn't need to worry!

My brother reliably tells me that Doctor Sleep is definitely worth it so Ill be blind buying it.

Good to here. I was skeptical about Blade Runner 2049 as well, but now (You may hate me for this) I believe I like it more then the first. Really need to watch both back to back to be sure. Been awhile since I watched it.

I don't hate you...but you're wrong!

Blade Runner 2049 is a great sequel - as good as anyone could have hoped for in all honesty - but I'd give it a 9/10 maybe a 9.5/10 at a push. Whereas the original has always been 10/10 for me.

At least it is based on the (pretty damn good) sequel that Stephen King wrote and not just a cash grab sequel.

Blade Runner 2049 and Doctor Sleep are both superior to their predecessors in my opinion.

is there a group buy on this one? I would rather have this one than the american release. Cover art is horrible.

I'm curious to what content will be available on this UK release. Is it just the 4K disc, or will it also include the directors blu ray? Can't currently find anymore details for it, regardless that its currently on pre-order.

Love this steelbook. A nice companion to the Shining steelbook. Much nicer than the US Best Buy exclusive.

their website states 3 discs but it would be nice to know what they are, hopefully the directors cut will be on a 4k disc instead of just a bluray

Most likely:
Disc 1 - Theatrical 4K
Disc 2 - Theatrical BD
Disc 3 - Extended BD

I highly doubt the extended cut will get a 4K release. WB didn’t do it for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and that’s from their flagship franchise. I can’t see WB doing a 4K extended cut disc for the UK when they haven’t done one for the US.

I like this cover art better than the US steelbook so I had already pre-ordered this one. Something odd about this whole thing and the delayed release date though. Why pack two Blu Rays in a 4K release? It might be special features, but then again it's a HMV exclusive, maybe they managed to get the Director's Cut 4K disc? The title on the HMV website "Doctor Sleep (hmv Exclusive) Limited Edition 3-Disc Director's Cut Steelbook" has me wishful thinking.

I emailed them about it, haven't heard anything yet... I don't really care for the artwork personally but I'd buy it if it had both cuts in 4k

I just noticed both HMV releases (Steelbook and non-Steelbook) are listed as 3 Disc Limited Editions and the standard UK release is listed as two disc set. That has me hopeful!

It's probably simar to the IT Chapter 2 situation, 3 disc set at first followed by just a 2 disc set going forward.
