King Kong beat it in global revenue so basically that means a bunch of US X-Men fanatics pushed US revenue up. It'll sell but it's not the movie that'll cause someone to buy a PS3 like the Matrix caused some people to buy a PS2
Hummm US market pushed up X-men. More like US geeks, who like comic books and if you fallow the stereo type, video games too. So I believe BD copies of X-men3 will sell pretty quick. I know I am going to get one. For such a garbage movie, I sure did enjoy it. So did alot of people I know. Hey the 2nd LOTR wasn't as good as the first one or the last one but it still sold well.
Oh yah wasn't the maxtrix on the TBA list for Blu-Ray?
BTW I feel asleep durring King Kong? Not kidding either, is it worth seeing again or am I going to fall asleep?

Not sure if Matrix impact = Xmen impact either here.

And.. Why do I see almost everywhere that globally, mods are the cause of off-topic behavior...?

I don't blame you King Kong was too long. And there was no chemistry between Naomi Watts and Adrien Brody either.

But they will be good demo material for those uncultured movie watchers.

I predict that Disney will drop Pirates before the end of the year. Probably just in time for Xmas. I don't know someone on the inside and I don't have facts to back it up. I'm just strong with the Force.

The Force of: "It would be very good marketing and a no-brainer to have a marquee title like that out in time for Christmas."

There may be more cockroaches in your house, but I would take superiorty (Blu-ray) over your VHS.

Sorry didn't mean it as a personal attack if I came across that way. Hey it is true geeks love Xmen. I am a reformed geek (kind of like a reformed hippie with out a 12 step program). People of all types love the xmen series and I think it will boost BD disc sales. However i don't think it will boost PS3 sales, they will sell like hot cakes anyways.

Oh but if this was an HDDVD exclusive, all of the sudden it would be "Great News for HDDVD" & "Another Nail in the coffin for BD"

And while we are talking about bugs...the only bugs I see out of these next gen optical formats are comming out of the HDDVD players.

For what it is worth I will be buying Kong too (unless it is a combo in which case it joins the combo boycott titles).

I liked it - wife never wants to see it again. I guess it all depends on what you like.

Though marketwise it depends on what the majority likes.

I think Kong could have been another 'Lord of the Rings' ... sadly even I have to admit that it wasn't.

X3? For me is was also alright. Probably a nice demo piece (hell I bought MI III for the demo value).

The best news about MI III was that I got it at $22 which is pretty good considering the retail. I hope Fry's marks down the other big titles on release week also in the upcoming times... (they had both HD DVD and BD at $22 in case you were wondering)

one thing you can say about fox is that they have big balls, whether they are creating their own news, creating offensive television shows or releasing unfogiveably bad movies along with the occasional classic.

It seems to me that the amount of anti-BD FUD flying around goes way up whenever BD wins a major coup.

Well said. I agree 100%. It seems like a desperate cry for help from the little HD DVD fanboys. I really would have more respect for them if
A: TOSHIBA wasn't the main company for HD DVD.
B: MS wasn't backing HD DVD.
C: if the post made were fact and not FUD.

I am not saying all the post about HD DVD are BS some people make some good points, but lately it has gotten a little out of hand here, and really bad everywhere else.
It is to the piont were I am no longer willing to support HD DVD by buying their stuff. I returned my A1 today and sold all of my HD DVD's. Why should I support something that brings nothing but fud, headaches and fustration. Plus the A1 is a heaping pile of cow dung IMO. I will never support HD DVD again. Not even with the add on. So for all the Fud factory HD DVD fanboys out there you did infulence a BD person with HD DVD. Just not the result, you fanboys were looking for.
This is not directed at any one particular person, just HD DVD Fanboys in general, who can't be real.
