Not a fan personally. Yes, the action sequences were fairly well done and the two lead actors did a bang up job. It was (use the term very, very lightly) grounded in reality up to a point but once
[Show spoiler]the ridiculous cosmetic surgeries
got involved, it threw it all out of the window and went into silly season.

I second that. I did not find tiger's acting anyway impressive infact that was the biggest letdown for me that he wasnt even able to pull off the simplest lines . The actions sequences were fine but after a point it started looking like a collage of well done set pieces. It literally was screaming at us that see ! there are bike chase here because we can shoot that, there is mid air action bec we can do that, Snowy lake car chase because we can.... and so on. Somehow the connect between these was completely missing for me. And yeah dont even get me started on surgery angle. A tool that was so impressively used in Badla gets totally misused here, even within cinematic liberties , crossing all boundries of ridiculousness. The single biggest achievement of War as a film could be that it was beautiful enough to look at, and tolerable enough to sit through its running length. This especially coming after the previous action fiasco that was Saaho at a much much higher budget (which competes with Zero in worst movies of all times award) was a big big relief but thats not really a compliment.

I confirm; audio unimpressive for sure. Had to crank up the volume quite a bit for this non-Atmos track even though the menu says Atmos!

Is Japan version any different from the YRF release?

The Indian Blu-ray features English subtitles, a soundtrack CD and uses the Dolby Atmos codec IIRC. The Japanese disc uses the DTS-HD codec and only features Japanese subtitles.

Thanks. I got Indian Release. It doesn't have Atmos even though covers says so. But Its a terrific soundtrack. I was just wondering if JP got Atmos track.

I don't own the YRF release. The price was very unreasonable for from eBay (Tiger Zinda Hai is for £20 while War was £40 by 2 vendors). Its for 900INR on Flipkart but then it's hard for me to import it. Then ppl have been saying that the fake Atmos is unimpressive.

Shame Pathaan is not getting a physical release by YRF. Luckily it's getting a German release but people don't like that company cause they ise BD25 instead of BD50

They go by Alive AG/Bollylove. They are the worst. I got burnt with their titles couple of times. I will stick with streaming than buying their discs.

This is the back picture of War 2019. When people sell you the YRF Indian blu ray for £40 on eBay and don't want to reduce the price(INR 899/£9 on Amazon/Flipkart), then you are left with no choice but to go for the Japanese version. It costed me £41 with delivery. At least I got spared by the orange blu ray packaging.

I've barely seen 10 minutes into the movie. I need to see how the quality is like.
