You are asking a lot of questions, and it's best to try them yourself to see what works best for you. I'm a firm believer for the best Streaming Video you need good equipment, Bandwidth, and a proper set-up. From other Posts it seems you have an LG, but what is your equipment, Bandwidth, and how are you set-up?

Observations from when Vudu last ran them in the Free with Ads block back in the summer. I doubt the changed the transfers for them recently as Terminator and Robocop were the same versions for years after the remastered transfers started popping up.

Is the DE BD Mr. Ripley on caps-a-holic the streaming version? Also, which master of Bill &Ted is better, can't find it on caps-a-holic?
I have a OLED55C8PUA, believe it use wireless, Netflix: 11.44 Mbps 2160p HDR and SDR, 2.61 Mbps 1080p Unanswered Questions: Does Terminator 2 Special Edition use the DNR'ed Skynet Edition or the non-DNR 2015 Edition? Is The Descent the AVC version on caps-a-holic? Last edited by Streetlight; 01-04-2020 at 10:17 PM. |

With your Bandwidth at almost 12Mbps you must have DSL, so you should get pretty good SD especially being Wireless. HD and 4K Streaming will be spotty with degradation and buffering. Last edited by alchav21; 01-05-2020 at 04:46 AM. |

Not asking for audio. There are 2 different HD master used, one used in the MPEG-2 BDs and the other in the MPEG-4 BDs |

you are insanely concerned about this, if you enjoy the movie, watch it. I highly doubt one encode vs a slightly different encode, is going to ruin your viewing of this movie.

That said, I checked out that version (not the same as the one in your link) and see little grain, and faces look smooth, so I suspect some degree of DNR, but it's hard to say because I can't compare one version to the other (so not sure if the smoothness is an illusion on my part or not). Though mine (called "special edition: extended") does appear more "filmic" in general. It's also a version no longer for sale or redeem. |

Here's the with T2: Like with most Carolco titles, StudioCanal is the main worldwide distributor for the Carolco catalog while Lionsgate handles US video and SOME streaming rights inherited from the ownership of Live Entertainment (who had purchased video rights to most of the Carolco catalog). TV rights however went to Worldvision/Spelling Entertainment, which ended up with Paramount before Y2K.
Somehow, streaming rights in general are intertwined with TV, which meant Paramount also assumed streaming rights to the Carolco catalog from the Worldvision/Spelling TV deal. This explains why there can be two versions of the same Carolco title on many different services, one being Lionsgate and the other Paramount. If you have the any of the Lionsgate versions of T2 (which are only available to purchase or become available through a code redempton) be it 4k/Theatrical or the extended cuts, they'll be the same masters as on the many Lionsgate and Studio Canal BDs out there. The Paramount versions (which are only available to rent or show up on Prime and/or free with ads service) OTOH, are not the same as the Lionsgate versions. Be it Extended or SE cuts, they're the same underlying master as the 2006 MPEG-2 BD which is grainy. I suspect it's Vudu's lackluster compression making things look smeary if you own the Paramount version. |

Does T2 Special Edition match more with the 2015 release or the VC-1 or MPEG-2 release?
