For me the feeling of ASMR (I do wish there was a better name for it) is very different from getting the chills or goosebumps but definitely feel free to post about either reaction. I tend to get the chills from big emotional moments or music but ASMR usually stems from watching people perform fairly mundane or technical tasks. It’s pretty weird.

There's a little seen movie called, "Shoot the Sun Down" from 1980. A western with Christopher Walken. There's a scene where he's in a stable, gently petting and feeding his horse, talking to it in a whisper, and that used to relax me almost to sleep.
There's one in Woody Allen's "Alice", with Mia Farrow, where she's talking to Joe Mantegna, and setting up a date talking about music, and her soothing voice in that scene always gave me ASMR, LOL. |

Also, for some reason, several German steelbook unboxing videos are like ASMR to me. ![]() |

It means Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. ASMR
Some people get it from soft spoken voices or certain sounds or hand movements, things like that. It is a relaxing, warm, tingly sensation some people get. It puts some people to sleep. And, no, it isn't limited to Millennials, LOL. In fact, most ASMR people are older. |
