UK DVD and BD Skywalker sets are now up for pre-order but what about the 4K? I know that Disnee hates us in the UK but it would suck Death Star-sized balls if we weren't gonna get the 4K set.

I noticed that, too. I really hope they release them on UHD in Europe as well. Star Wars is too big not to.

Doesn't even have to be a box set. It's pretty common for studios to skip 4K box sets here in Swedenland, anyway. Sometimes we get individual releases while the Americans are stuck with box sets, which feels like a strange release strategy to me, but whatevs.

But in any case..

UK pre-order:

Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga 4K Blu-ray

Also I hope the soundtracks aren’t compressed like other Disney releases.
Yeah, I mentioned that in the other thread - the audio will definitely be a deciding factor when it comes to whether I'll buy this or not. Gimme some oomph, Dizney!

So maths time...

27 discs.

18 of those are the films, that leaves 9 left.

Take away the 3 bonus discs from the last ‘complete’ box set and we are left with 6.

Awakens and Jedi had their bonus content on a separate disc, down to 3. One imagines Skywalker will do the same, down to 2.

So that’s 2 discs of mystery Bonus content left, one of which will hopefully be Empire Of Dreams and if so, it will more then likely have it’s own disc. Down to 1.

So if this is just one giant re-package, we are looking at possibly 1 new Blu-ray Disc of extras. Unless they do a content reshuffle on the archive discs from the last set and give each film its own extras disc.

Isn’t it fun when you get asked for £180 but they won’t tell you what your money is actually paying for.

Hurrah and huzzah! But is it just the 4K that's an amazon exclusive or are they going to be the ones who are getting the lavish 'book' style packaging and the 4K will still be on wide release in regular packaging elsewhere?

The press bumpf literally says that each film has its own bonus disc. I don't think they're porting over the existing three Saga discs, not 'as is' anyway. LFL don't usually do that. If we're lucky they'll reshuffle the content as you say, if we're not then we'll get lots more new stuff but nothing from the previous BD or DVD releases.

Thanks for the update! just pre-ordered the UK set since I'm not super big on the US's big book packaging. It just takes up too much space, IMO.

The UK packaging is much more streamlined.

EDIT:
Well dang, guess everyone is getting the big book. Oh well. Still keeping my pre-order though.

Um you do know that the image there is not final? We could end up with exactly the same as the US big book packaging.

Indeed - the Amazon.co.uk listing had now been updated to show the same big book packaging.

With current exchange rates, even with shipping, the UK set works out to be roughly $50 cheaper than the Best Buy price. Still pricey though.

£180 = $233.

If I was ordering this, I'd say it's worth the extra $17 considering how many shipments I've had trouble with from the UK lately.

When i add it to cart it's £150. plus £3.08 shipping for roughly $198. Consider tax in your area and you're better by more than $50

It's 180 UKP if you live in the UK, as that price includes VAT. When shipping to the U.S., the VAT is removed, leaving it at 150UKP + S&H.

Best to get the pre-order in now and if it does drop your order should reflect that, if by release week you decides it’s still you expensive then cancel it.
