I enjoyed Clone Wars until the heart-wrenching final arc.

The problem with Rebels is that apart from Chopper and Hera the characters come of as incredibly annoying. It can be an issue when your droid is the smartest one on the crew.

Watched the finale last night, enjoyed it but
[Show spoiler]it would have been nice to explore the Unknown Regions if they went looking for Ezra
.

Star Wars Rebels Sequel Still Underway Despite Bad Batch Announcement

http://epicstream.com/news/BayaniMig...h-Announcement

Quote:
We don’t know exactly when this Rebels sequel will come, but I have a feeling it’s going to release before The Bad Batch, seeing that it’s been teased way before we even met Clone Force 99 in the final season of The Clone Wars. We don’t have any idea when Lucasfilm plans to announce it, but with Disney+ having a panel at Comic-Con@Home, I think it’s possible the announcement could come then.

As much as I'd totally be down for it, isn't We Got This Covered usually full of hot air? That said, I think it would be kinda silly for them to introduce Ahsoka and Sabine in live action in Mando, just to go back to having them strictly in animation. I'd love to see live action takes on them and Zeb. Chopper would be fun too. Hell, they'd all be fun.

Thrawn is also an inevitability for live action, methinks, but I'd like to see him at top tier villain rather than knocked down a few pegs, though his rise back to the top could be an interesting story too. Rebels introduced too many important things to the universe- Mortis, World Between Worlds, etc. for the stories and characters to not feature at least somewhat prominently from here on out.

Yeah, this is some ol' bullshit. We Got This Covered is absolutely no different than The Direct. They just make shit up to drive traffic during slow news periods.

Or capitalize on periods when there's lots of news.

Or just make shit up in general.

I was previously just trying to make conversation during a dull period, but after the most recent episode of The Mandalorian, maybe a sequel to Rebels will be live-action after all.

Bearing in mind that Rebels arguably really took off when it started incorporating some of the TCW story threads it would perhaps be somewhat disingenuous to describe a new show as a Rebels sequel. If it progress stories that started in TCW and that were advanced later in Rebels, then to my mind it would be more appropriate to describe it as a TCW & Rebels sequel.

I've always wondered, shouldn't their reputation have caught up to them by now? Just about everyone knows that they are full of crap.

These are all clickbait sites.

If there's a reputable rumor, it'll find its way to either Deadline or io9.

Star Wars Rebels Animated Sequel Series Scrapped

Quote:
After conversations between Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, a decision is said to have been made for the Rebels sequel to play out in Ahsoka - no great surprise after that Grand Admiral Thrawn mention!

"This is not the end for Ahsoka in animation," the site reports. "From what we've heard, Jon has successfully convinced Filoni to tell the next chapter of Ahsoka's journey specifically in a tie-in with Rebels in live-action. The next part of the journey is going to be told that way."

Surprisingly, that animated series was quite far along when Lucasfilm chose to change things up.

"Basically, the Rebels sequel was already in production, even eyeing a November 2020 release date; Taylor Gray even recorded lines for Ezra Bridger, but after the success of The Mandalorian, that's where Jon was like 'Okay, we can bring these characters into live-action and tell the story this way.'"

Yeah that's what I figured. All of this is possible in live action and after the massive success of Mandalorian, why look back?

It is incredibly hard to imagine they would spend that amount of money developing an animated series, just to scrap it and start all over in live action.
