I watched and liked Charmed for what it was, but nothing holds a candle to Buffy. Charmed only beats Buffy if it's a Wishverse where Buffy doesn't exist.
Angel and Buffy did get continued in comic format with Angel picking up right were it left off. They both did get an ending in season 12 of Buffy. Someone should go back and time and Tell Joss whedon not to ask for a early renewel for angel.

That was always the intended ending for the show. The fight goes on, there is no ending.

Im not sure if thats really true as Joss whedon got the show cancelled trying to get it renewed early.

The show might have gone on for one, two, or several more seasons. Regardless, it was always intended to end with the surviving heroes in an alley, outnumbered, going up against the forces of darkness, and that “Let’s go to work” final line followed but a blank screen. Had it not been cancelled season 5 would have ended differently, but on cancellation Whedon had to rework the final episodes to fit with the ending he always intended for the show.

As one-sided as this question is, Charmed wasn't totally without merit....

Buffy all of the way.

I watched Charmed until Shannen was taken off. Didn't care too much for any of it afterwards.

Buffy is not even comparable to Charmed. No offense to Charmed fans.

Resumed my rewatch of Buffy from season 4.
Everytime it surprises me: how solid the script of each episode, how well written the characters. How everything is linked and built.

It is pure entertainment at its peak.

Why do you keep being surprised? It should be common knowledge by now that Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the pinnacle of all television shows.
