Curious what aspect ratio will be transferred, 2.0 or 2.35.

The 2.0 ratio on some home video releases was incorrect. It should be 2.39:1.

It didn't take forever for this unless your comparing to now. It came out the next year (10 months later)...as compared to other movies that took 2-3 years.

Wow! This is such great news. The original Blu-ray was stunning at the time. A total revelation since I had only seen the VHS, not the DVD. But of course the transfer is now a little dated.

If Paramount manages to keep enough grain the results will be spectacular! I hope it gets the Dolby Atmos track it deserves too! The sound of the F-14s taking off the carrier has always been powerful but Atmos will take it to the next level!

Yeah, the music throughout this movie is a big part of why it's all been seared into my brain.

Eh, 2.39:1 always felt cramped to me. I'd like to watch it in 2.0 again.

watch them revert back to the original blu ray grade and not that godawful grade they had for 3D release.

Same here, this one's pretty tough to stomach. But I came in here cause I'm happy for Ray, but he hasn't surfaced yet...maybe he's celebrating.

My go to version right now is the 3D transfer, that will change though once the 4K is released.

saw it on standard 16:9 TV airing , no black bars on top and bottom and I think you could really see more detail on the picture which was really helpful in those aerial scenes

It still blows my mind that Tony Scott went from The Hunger to Top Gun. Talk about polar opposites.
