I always preferred the first one over the sequel, think its because the first time I watched it was in american dubbed voices and those 2 women just wouldn't shutup! So incredibly annoying that it made me want to mute every scene they were in. Eventually I got the asian bluray release some years later but it was always in my head even in chinese, I think they were equally bad characters

I'll still get this release though since I no longer have it in my collection

Bit premature. If 88 were getting Armour any time soon I'm sure they would have waited to announce a box set.

I added a re-edited mono track and new subs to the 2K master and that will have to do for now.

It was based on the rumour that was floating around here at the time that the Mediumrare was oop and eureka could get it

Mediumrare released it as a blu ray & dvd set but I think it's OOP. Hopefully eureka or 88 can re-release and improve the encoding.

Yeah the one from 2016.

I might be wrong but wasn't the movie remastered more recently, and on one of the Fortune Star trailers for upcoming releases ?

That was always the case though, people flocked to the Bruce Lees and the Jackies and the Sammos on HKL DVD but after that the excitement seemed to die down, to the point where HKL re-released the Bruce Lee flicks as special editions.

I’m very happy with this, hope they include the behind the scenes stuff again. I have to say I’m a tiny bit disappointed it’s not with the first one but it’s no problem. I do hope the first one gets an 88 or Eureka release as the Mediumrare release was basically a slightly better version of the HKL dvd and if I remember correctly was slightly cropped. Anyway this is good news seems like it’s going to be a good year on the HK movies front and I for one am going to continue to support these excellent labels, 88 films and Eureka and hope we can encourage all the fans to do the same so we can continue getting releases that go way above the quality we’ve had for years.

Note for any potential Armour of God 1 release (88, Eureka or whoever) - could you include the English dub on the full version (not just an export cut) and include the option of having the 'Flight of the dragon' end credits song - pretty please

Also I want to give a shout out to how great the booklets have been getting with these JC releases, looking forward to the artwork unvieling too
