It'd be really cool if they got Bradley Pierce and Kirsten Dunst to appear in this movie. Heck, I'd even settle for David Alan Grier and/or Bonnie Hunt. Jonathan Hyde is probably too much to ask for.

They should do a sequel to the 2005 film Zathura.

I only just realised it took 22 years for a sequel to arrive. That's pretty impressive.

Scheduled for Dec. 2026

Sony Pictures announced that Jumanji 3 is set to hit theaters Dec. 11, 2026. Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan starred in the first two films and are expected to return, as is director Jake Kasdan, who helmed both features.

Don't you just love how that statement almost completely ignores the first film, going so far as to imply that its irrelevant? Greedy executives shooting their mouths off, as usual.

How does it imply it’s irrelevant? Because they call it part 3 instead of 4?

The same thing happened with Ghostbusters. After Frozen Empire was announced many articles referred to it as GB Afterlife sequel instead of just GB4...which would have been shorter to type.

I agree it’s dumb they don’t properly acknowledge continuity but the movies do.

Anyway I loved Welcome to the Jungle and Next Level so I’m excited for another one with this cast.

I have seen the original. I think it’s good but I enjoyed the sequels more. It’s probably because I watched it as an adult (before the sequels, in order) and I can relate to video games more. I like board games too of course.

The newer Jumanji movies are just not interesting to me being set where they are. What made the original so great outside of Williams was the wonderful entering the real world. Nothings magical if ot belongs in the world it's in. Plus swapping a board game for a computer game was just an eye roll. Throw in Jack Black playing Jack Black and Dwayne Johnson playing Dwayne Johnson and it's all just a dull version of the name. The kids enjoyed them.

That’s the point...to see what it’s like to be INSIDE Jumanji like Alan was.

The video game makes it so a team can enter and though it might seem a little convenient Jumanji is clearly something supernatural so turning into a video game to lure new players in makes sense.

Next Level ended with Jumanji entering our world again so it’s interesting to see what they do with that since the main cast is focused on being avatars.

I saw Jumanji Williams original film, and the Jumanji reboot, but haven't kept up with it since. I think I will jump back in when it hits Jumanji 10. The 10th film in the series.

Speaking of which, I just love that connection they made to the first one, with the "Alan Parrish was here" engraving in the treehouse.

I am a bit concerned about how this new one will begin, because the last one ended with the group seeing an ostrich herd outside the coffee shop, so they know that the game has entered the real world again, but the actors playing Spencer, Fridge, Martha, and Bethany had to have aged in the five years since then.

Welcome to the Jungle is clearly a soft reboot and these films will be a trilogy, even if they are in continuity with the original film. And calling it Jumanji 3 is just a short hand working title thing, I’m sure the actual title will be a subtitle like the last two.

Also for someone who liked the original film the most because it had Jumanji magic going into the real world, isn’t that very likely what the premise of this will be too?

One thing I'd love to see is for Spencer, Fridge, Martha, and Bethany to actually interact with their personal avatars face to face, and learn who the characters they played as actually were the whole time.

Given that, I'm guessing the premise be a combination of the original movie and the first two sequels.
