I know how you hypersensitive folks are. I reviewed what Brie Larson (the feminist devil incarnate) said; how everyone wanted us to decide she was despicable based on what, 2 sentences from an interview out of the thousands of others? It’s hypersensitivity I tell you, and not the whole picture. We live in a ****ed up world where people think equality has become an agenda and anyone who cares about it is a femiNazi. A film, even one with an “agenda” can be good if that’s not all you’re hyper honed in on. It seems the problem with fans who think this is that they have this compulsion to watch something they seem to find repulsive and then complain about it for literally years on end. And I’m meant to believe women like this woman or Larson are the ones with the problem??

Also what does a persons beliefs have to do with a show or movie that act on or direct.

Kate Mulgrew says the world is flat, guess we need to pull Voyager.

Maybe Brie had a fair point, but she didn't present with much intelligence or non bias. What is problematic with people like her is that they will lecture, preach, and sermonize, but would never put themselves in the position to practice what they're trying to advocate, never willing to put their own privilege in check for the sake of the cause. Brie took on a role that was originally Monica Rambeau, a POC. I didn't see her step aside for Lashawna Lynch for the sake of diversity and comic book accuracy. Nope, she was ok with having POC be her sidekick while she was the biggest most powerful bestest evar. Celebrities on their gold encrusted high horse with their "moral code" and social superiority are the most clueless, out of touch, vain people and have little ground to lecture anyone about anything, that's all they do, talk.

Just sayin.

The Captain Marvel used in the movie was not for Monica Rambeau. That character moved on from that name years ago, and should have never been saddled with that name. Second Lashana Lynch did not play Monica Rambeau in the movie.

Playing with a lot of false equivalency here.

The fact this is being promoted / headed as a female focused show with a female lead, female show runner and female writers means this is agenda driven. You can disagree all you want but it is a fact. Replace “female” with “male” and the reaction would be very different.

Also I don’t understand why Disney defenders and SJWs don’t want the Best available talent vs. put boundaries on who they will hire. Why don’t you want to hire the Best people for the job?

But it coulda been though, right? Just because they didn't doesn't mean it was because they couldn't. And my mistake she was playing Monica's mother, since Monica was a kid in that film. Quibbles aside, my point still stands and is still valid. Brie like many other self congratulatory back patters, like to grand stand for image sake, but she doesn't play by the same standard she wants to set for other people.

You should take a look and see how many Captain Marvels there are. None have been as popular as Carol. They made the correct choice to start with her.

Unless these stars are personally hindering my ability to make a living I do not care what they say.

Sure, but if Disney and Brie are so hard up on diversity, then by golly take one for the team.

As I said this was the right move, not much more I can say on it. Back to complaining about Star Wars.

Make a tiny little mistake on here, like an accidental double-post due to a wonky connection, and the mods and admins will immediately delete it and reprimand you for it.

Blatant hate and s**tposting, though? A-okay!

Giving something a chance before moaning and whining before your fragile insecurities take a hit to the nads? IMPOSSIBLE! Why would anyone give that drivel a chance? IT WAS MADE BY A WOMAN! And.....you know. She's got an agenda! Or something! A vagenda!

Well, I'm afraid you're misunderstanding me though. See I don't care what approach they went with, I know why they did it. I just wish they would just cut the crap, drop the phony bologna PR strategy. Don't ask other people to be an example, if you're not willing to be the example yourself. That is just posing with bogus intentions.

Female-Centric probably just means that it's focusing on a female protagonist.

What's wrong with that exactly?

Why do you care? How is this personally affecting you?

Does anything they say or do impede your rights?

People on both sides of the fence are very thinned skin. They are both accusing each other of the things the other are doing.

Example: "I have the right to say what I want, shut up Brie Larson"

That’s the strange thing here though: RUSSIAN DOLL was one of the best things released last year on any format. Leslye Headland hit it out of the park there and now she’s reaping the rewards. She’s the best talent right now and the best person for any job in the industry. STAR WARS fans are either just oblivious to quality adult entertainment or pushing their own agenda.
