Great! Been waiting for a remaster for ages. This should be awesome. Just curious, does anybody know the source for the alternate end credits? I wasn't aware that any existed.

I'm not speaking for any company here, but I keep seeing people ask about A Chinese Ghost Story, and AFAIK, the rights to that aren't with Fortune Star in Europe. That's why we haven't seen any of the Golden Princess/Cinema City titles yet.

Eureka still my only hope. I don't expect any of the Region A boutique labels to release any of these HK gems any time soon.

That's another, better way of putting it. What I was trying to say is that people assume that because Fortune Star have the Asian rights they also have the European rights, which isn't the case. Do Atlas International still own these?

Day one purchase for me - the Eureka releases so far have been great. As above would still love:

1. Chinese Ghost Story Trilogy
2. Enounters of the Spooky Kind
3. Swordsman 1 / 2
4. Hard Boiled

so i can retire my Dvd's but will just have to keep hoping

Fingers crossed they release Rouge as well.

It is a shame they haven't included the Jonathan Ross Channel 4 intros from the 'Chinese Ghost Stories' series.

if Atlas still had them, these titles would have swarmed Europe for quite some time now... so, nope.

I'd say only the UK dub as I think they're a UK company. Only 1 english track on that release too

Not sure why I sold my Mr Vampire HKL DVD, especially as it was probably for $5 but I can't stand watching SD titles anymore with ugly subs. Like Zu Warriors though the creativity is way out there for me so perhaps I didn't see much replay value however I do appreciate both movies for their uniqueness

This one's doubly sad because it does have a pretty nice HD master already, as seen on the Japanese Blu. It's not perfect but a bit of cleanup would make it even better. Hopefully it'll get licensed in the West at some point. The "Full Contact" master that Sony has (and apparently released on iTunes in some Asian markets?) would be amazing too.

What's the chance of A Better Tomorrow trilogy being released in the UK? I know 1 and (I think) 2 have Asian releases

Hard Boiled is a Tartan one so most likely to come from Arrow. Also Enounters of the Spooky Kind should be released with the sequel.

The rights for Spooky Encounters II resides with Warner, so roughly about zero chance of that happening I'm sorry to say.

Last I asked, no major Woo titles were in the pipeline from Eureka unfortunately. Think they said the rights were more complicated than people may think (and/or they're just very expensive to license).
