I've been thinking of getting The Whole Town's Talking but was holding out on a final price of less than $11.95 (the disc is bare bones) and there's too many reports of bad discs from TT.
The release was a missed opportunity. As long as they were getting that film from Sony, too bad they couldn't have gotten a non-Stooge Columbia short or two from the same year (1935) as extras. Last edited by rdf8585; 05-11-2020 at 12:29 AM. |

This sale saddens me.
I think that all going-out-of-business sales sadden me. Thank you, Twilight Time! I was never a fan of your prices, but I certainly was impressed with your curatorship! I own thirty-five titles from your blu-ray catalogue, and for those films, I am forever in your debt, because they provided me comfort on a lonely night. Peace! |

Dang. I had just received an order from them a month ago. Decided to place another one while the sale's ongoing, partly out of pity and partly to nab some titles I fear would be unavailable in the future. I wound up ordering this lot:
Behold a Pale Horse The Chase Chato's Land Kid Galahad Morituri Murphy's Law Shadows and Fog Tom Sawyer / Huckeberry Finn The Valachi Papers Warlock Whirlpool Wild in the Country Been following Twilight Time since 2013 when Christine first hit. The limited release scheme was always a bit annoying, since some titles remain out of print indefinitely (and I could really kick myself for missing out on The Egyptian and parting with Zulu). However, with frequent sales, this company did help me expand my collection with some dang amazing gems. Enemy Mine, Rollerball, Journey to the Center of the Earth, The Driver, The Mechanic, 10 to Midnight, Hardcore, Inherit the Wind, Panic in Needle Park, Bedazzled, House of Bamboo, Fright Night, Vampires, Zardoz--I'll cherish these and a bunch of others as long as my Blu-Ray players still work. Thank you Twilight Time for all the memories. |

I bought it blind. Anything with George C. Scott is always worth a look in my book.
![]() I bought The Hospital when it came out. It was not as good as I remembered, as it has not aged as well as other black comedies of that era. Perhaps because there was more shock in the 60s as doctors and hospitals were highly respected back then. Still, George C. Scott and Diana Rigg are quite watchable. As when George C. Scott is ranting at Nancy Marchand about the hospital's nurses - "The incompetence in this hospital is absolutely radiant... I mean, where do you train your nurses, Mrs. Christie, Dachau!?" My list from today (around $300 shipped for 28 titles): [Show spoiler]

I picked these up:
Anastasia (Blu-ray) $11.95 Anne Of The Thousand Days (Blu-ray) $11.95 Black Stallion Returns, The (Blu-ray) $6.95 Gran Bollito AKA Black Journal (Blu-ray) $6.95 Julia (Blu-ray) $6.95 Nicholas Nickleby (Blu-ray) $6.95 Valachi Papers, The (Blu-ray) $6.95 Subtotal $58.65 Shipping $13.05 Tax $0.00 Total (USD) $71.70 Shipping was a little excessive, but at least there was no tax. Does anyone know what "Order status: Manual Verification Required" means in the order? I have ordered with them before. ^^ Nevermind, it already changed to Awaiting Fulfillment Last edited by Katatonia; 05-11-2020 at 01:56 AM. |
