Well that's hella ugly. Hopefully if this gets a new 4k scan soon they can do UHD with the actual poster art for once. Sick of these awful repacks with butt ugle art. And like someone else mentioned, the image inside isn't even from the first movie, it's the 3rd. I hate that shit.

I bought this strictly for the digital copy. Mine arrived today in perfect condition (the steelbook) however there was NO digital copy. The Removable cardboard from the back of the packaging even states the code is inside and gives the “redeem by” date. Either Best Buy or the manufacturer of the Steelbook really messed this one up... or I got unlucky. Never had this happen before with a sealed movie. No digital sheet at all, just the disc. Trying to fix it with Best Buy but having difficulties so far.... Be wary if digital copies matter to you. I think this was the first release of Nightmare (1984) with a digital copy. I’m very bummed. And the disc appears to just be the old BR disc from years ago. Welp.

Yikes. Paramount is better to F13 than Warner is to NOES.

What an awful steelbook release... I really hate the white aesthetic they keep using for the Nightmare films. Doesn't feel connected to the atmosphere in the series of films themselves.
Have you all seen how awesome the Mondo art is for Nightmare on Elm Street? There are so many great artist they could've commissioned for some nightmare art work but they chose this lazy release. Honestly, I would be over the moon if they used the original theatrical artwork. I hope Target does they're own releases of the Nightmare films. They're lenticular digibooks and steelbook releases are so awesome! |

Mine was missing the digital code too, but I did make a quick video "unboxing" the new steelbook for anyone who wants to see it but hasn't ordered/received theirs yet, and talking a little about the franchise and the old transfer included here. This is my first blu-ray video so I have a lot to learn, but I hope to improve with future unboxing/review videos.

Just for fun here’s a relatively clear shot of the first film’s makeup which I feel like no other film tried to recreate in terms of peeling skin and I believe one ear is practically gone: ![]() |
