I hear you. I wonder if it'll have difficulty options to be more forgiving for those with limited free time. I like a challenge, but not one that is so tough it needs to be repeated through trial and error 15 times before finally getting it down. Just not enough free time for that kind of punishment.

Visuals look excellent. 2023 is still a ways off. But yes, they said it's likely along the lines of the Dark Souls games.

Latest game play of Wukong Black Myth for PS5, in continual perpetual development. No doubt a small development company as it's been years since it was announced.

These Battle Survival games tend to have amazing animation most times IMO.

Good to see an update. I was worried that this would be one of those games that comes out with an amazing demo but never gets further than that. It looks great.

Yes, I hope they're close to completion by the end of 2022, for a 2023 release date for Wukong for PS5.

I hope they can keep the frame rate at 60 fps with at least semi-4K graphics without shimmering. That would be cool. This game looks like something out of Unreal Engine 5 or something. Not sure what graphics engine they're using. Okay, I see they switched the game to Unreal Engine 5 in fact. Cool. The 8 minute trailer above I believe is of Unreal engine 5's version of Wukong.

19 minutes gameplay. The graphics look great, but I'm not exactly ready to fight massive, tough bosses yet. The game is clearly a path-based game from all the gameplay I've seen. I like when they open things up a bit more so you don't just run down paths most times. Fable 1 was very path based. It's fine for action games though. Which I think this primarily is.

I can't believe how long this has been in development. Seems like 5 years now.

Apparently the Gamescom demo was designed to let people fight a range of bosses only and excluded the other outside traversal areas etc.

So atm i am still not sure if we're looking at something much more linear and funneled down to each boss fight, or something a bit more like Elden Ring where you can find multiple paths and circle back around to areas to constantly fight enemies in multiple areas, farm etc.

Truth is though, and this isn't really a sleight on the devs but they deliberately released that hyper polished looking gameplay video to get eyeballs on this game whilst the developer was actually still actively seeking investment and to expand their development team.

I do hope this game releases and is as good as we hope, but there's a fine line between vaporware and overhyped junk. Hopefully this isn't junk when it comes out.

Looks like it could be a good boss battle game. I would be surprised if the game opened up like the Horizon 2 map. But BloodBorne, I can see that as more possible with the linear paths to choose from as you like, which is nice.

They have talented artists working on this game, and the controls of the Monkey seem like they'll be reliable for gamers who enjoy these brutal boss battle games, fighting small, medium and large bosses. If they have extra large bosses like in God of War, I'm not sure. I guess it's a small team though, as it has taken quite a while and not much is known 3+ years later. I don't think there's a release date yet either.

Finally! A release date. It's been years since it was announced. August 20, 2024 if there are no expected delays by some miracle for Wukong Myth PS5.

The graphics look great and animations, though it'll be interesting to see what resolution this runs at and frame rate. Hopefully a couple options.

Apparently it's open map to some degree if true.
Definitely has a brutal boss battle focus to it.

Well that's crushing for me tbh. I know you guys like that, but I hate making progress on a game and then getting thrown wayyy back because I died on a boss. The game looked so cool in that initial gameplay video too.
