Pretty bummed about Dune's delay. I actually just finished reading the novel, motivated out of excitement to see the film.

If you have read the novel, and would like to try checking out the 1984 David Lynch version, try to find the uncut/uncut version. Word is that it runs quite long and includes most of the novel's details. The theatrical version was edited with a chainsaw!

Nice find! I've been looking forward to this movie for so long and I'm stoked that it's getting the 3D treatment.

Going by the RealD logo on the character posters released today, Dune will be released in 3D.

Hoping to catch this in 3D at the cinemas despite the COVID situation in India and WB's trend of not releasing any 3D films in India.

Now that the film is rated PG-13 and that RealD 3D logo is on the poster, WB better not have any random reason to cancel the 3D release at the last minute just like how they did with 'Mortal Kombat'. And most importantly a 3D Blu-ray release is a must.

Given that WB preserved Wonder Woman 1984’s IMAX expanded scenes on the 3D Blu-ray, I will dare to hope that Dune is going to do the same.

There's pretty much enough confirmation that we'll be getting this in 3D.

There's stereo credits on this film's DNEG page, the posters have the RealD 3D logo, and the trailer description mentions the 3D release.

I assume this movie wasn't shot 3D in mind. Just like the director's Blade Runner 2049. I saw BR 2049 in IMAX 3D (in opened 1.90:1 aspect ratio) and of course on 3D blu-ray, but it really didn't look like they wanted it to look GREAT in 3D.

Anyways, if Dune comes in 3D that's the first thing I want to see.

Now as the discs sales are getting lower and lower, I really believe we have a good chance of getting Dune 3D blu-ray release. The 3D fans are buying the discs quite well, so the studio would get some extra money on those.

The home 3D is not dead. Long live the home 3D!

In Germany "Dune" is slated for showing in cinemas on 16th of September already. It happens not often that we can watch a movie before its domestic release. But then, a pandemic also does not happen that often
